MuteAce was making some crazy adaptation in his gameplay and almost brought it back. Watch game one, Mute was getting grabbed a lot and hit by the bomb (fair) a lot. Rest of the set he was way more slippery with his movement and avoided those things pretty well. Game one Maister was completely in control, for the rest of the set it looked like it could go either way.

How safe is the landing hit of Gnw's back air? Shouldn't muteace have been able to punish with a short hop nair or bair? I know the float takes at least a frame to activate.

Gnw definitely easy. You just throw out safe moves. No combo labbing necessary, recovery is one of the best, disjoints protect him, great frame data, active hitboxes to land nairs and bairs. Fox while broken does get gimped and takes a big risk going off stage for edge guards.

you don't go offstage unless you have a guaranteed edgeguard with fox, fox closes the gap for free and has brain dead combos and ledgetrapping whilst gnw still has to compensate for his lack of range@@NotHere-un5pf

Fell off? Mute lost 3-2 to the two best Game n Watch players in the world. Them two could have easily 3-2 or better flat out beat and eliminate Gluto, Tweek, Zomba, Shuton, Asimo etc etc just the same. Peach hasn't fell off. She actually gotten better. No shame in losing two close sets against Maister and Miya.

@@LoadedKlip Lost is the keyword. I love the guy, he's cool, but what has he accomplished recently? He is a better player than I will ever be, winning being a matter of "yes", not "I was close though" is still a thing even I understand. She's gotten better, but has worse results than her hayday, and has been figured out by even mid level players. I'm sure I'm missing something...
