new pipe smoker here. I have always had to relight my pipe about half way through every time and I never could figure out why. I always guessed I just need more time to master the art of packing correctly. but thanks to this video I have just finished my first pipe without the need to relight. thank you so much, this has really increased my enjoyment of the pipe.

I haven't even started smoking a pipe yet. I am a few years into smoking cigars and have been thinking about getting into pipes. These video's have been the best I have found yet. If I have a question I just look through all these video's and there is always a video close to what I was looking for. Best Pipe youtuber out there.

I am a newbie to enjoying the pipe. I never knew there's actually so much art and science behind smoking the pipe. It has taught me to appreciate the small and finer things in life, slow my pace down, think and contemplate about stuff we sometimes tend to oversee due to the stresses of life. Thank you for not just being an online mentor, but above all, an artiste who shares without being overwhelming or bearing, but always with respect and sound collective advise. Brilliant job Muttnchop Piper! Take those daily manuka honey one teaspoon once a day to prolong our good health so that we may continue to enjoy our pipes and those wonderful tabaccos. Keep well!

I started pipe smoking about a month ago, and probably would have given it up if not for your channel. Between this video, the breath technique video, and your various tips around not scorching the tobacco when you light it and making sure the tobacco has a proper moisture level (among so many others), I *finally* just now smoked an entire bowl and was able to appreciate the actual FLAVOR of the tobacco with no tongue bite. This is a far cry from my first attempts with my tongue ending up like shoe leather, and most of the attempts after that ending with varying degrees of success (or, more often, varying degrees of failure). Thanks to your videos, my technique has been improving, and I think I'm finally getting the hang of everything. It's pretty cool to experience the progression. Just wanted to say thanks, and hope I run into you some day so I can shake your hand. Take care, and keep the videos coming! :)

I wish I've watched this video before this last weekend lol, I packed pretty tight to the point that I ended up clogging the pipe lol!! It was my first bowl using a brand new briar pipe. I tried to smoke pipe before and bought a cob pipe in case I didn't like it. Because it was such a bad experience, I gave up the idea of smoking pipe. This time, I spent a little more money and bought a decent briar pipe. It was my first bowl, in a first pipe " technically". It was a much better experience. Your videos are very helpful for the new pipe smokers. I appreciate your effort. Cheers!!

Your videos have helped me A LOT. I didn't get what the appeal of pipes were, until your videos. You really taught me to slow down, and really enjoy it. With a nice bowl now, I can sit and relax with one light for almost 2 hours now. your breathing method was SO relaxing... Also, I know this might sound weird, I help my grandmother with her farm, and we grow our own cukes, garlic, and dill. Home-made pickle juice I find is THE PERFECT compliment to a more calm tasting tobacco for me, I find it really evens it out and leaves you itching for that next little taste of tobacco. Just a few of my thoughts. Thanks for your time and video's.

Reuben Sackville - you're right my friend, we don't smoke a pipe just to draw in smoke and blow it out, we draw it in slowly, let it linger on the pallet, absorb the flavor then expel the dead carcass in the form of smoke. Whoops sorry got caught up in the moment. 😃😃😃

I was firstly stuffing way, way to much tobacco in my pipe....not loose enough allowing air arround the Tobacco. Then to compound that I thought stamping harder would help light it because it wasn't burning. LOL...I had a brick of tobacco in my pipe. After a few times I figured it out on packing the pipe. I'm a little slow there I guess....took me longer to not tamp so darn hard. Good video !!!

In my experience it is easier to keep the pipe burning when you tamp down the ash deeper at the side of the bowl than in the middle, so that you may have something like a cone. Therefore I like to use a concavely formed tamper as some of the Rattray´s are. Get well soon! Bernd.

I've watched a bunch of your videos since starting pipe smoking and I have to say this is one of the most informative. Thanks a lot, especially for making a video while being under the weather

ibasiclypwn - you're more then welcome my friend. hi again Muttnchop Piper, one more question. How soon after smoking do you clean out your pipe? I've read moisture is a concern so I don't want to ruin my pipe but I also heard you're not supposed to disassemble it while it's still hot ?
@MuttnchopPiper7 жыл бұрын
ibasiclypwn - I wait until the pipe has cooled completely, if you pick it up and it's still the slightest bit warm wait until the pipe bowl is cool, usually around 30 to 45 minuets. 👍👍👍

Felix Wang - it was at one time my favorite pipe, but after a while the weight started to hurt my teeth, so I had to trade them in for a lighter model of pipe, the Savinelli 122 Porto Cervo Rusticated Pot. The reasoning behind buying a lot of the same pipe is I like the looks, how it smokes, the weight, and the price. So instead of taking a chance on a pipe I’m not familiar with I stick with the pipe model I like. 👍👍👍
