5 pubs , great stout in all of them, and one of the reasons why I don't like giving numerical ratings, is that I would say that apart from basically here talking about pubs that are only slightly better than each other. On a different day, a different keg , and more people in drinking can mean different pubs could come out on top. A big thanks to the Muttonistas who sent me recommendations and Waterford Muttonistas who were most helpful on the day.

Numerical ratings are catchy but they so subjective, the reviewer actually loses credibility just throwing semi-arbitrary numbers out there

They're mass produced stouts it's hardly like there's typically a gigantic difference between one venue and the next in the same town. I'm more interested in seeing what the pubs atmosphere looks like.

Great video Mutton. I’ve been waiting for a video in Waterford! I moved to Waterford a few months back from England and have been watching your videos of your visits in Ireland since then. You made some very good choices with the pubs. However, if you come back then I recommend you try out a pub called Nicky’s as well. When the horse racing is on, it’s a great atmosphere. But they also do some fantastic pints too.

O'Sheas stout in Aldi is brewed by the same brewery as O'Haras(Carlow brewing). They used to have a pub in Kilkenny which is now closed. Sullivans tap room in Kilkenny worth a visit though, they should have their own Marble stout on draft.

I’m surprised that you didn’t like Guinness foreign extra, did you try the Nigerian or Irish version? IMO the Irish version is much better, the Nigerian one can have an almost synthetic taste. Great blog as usual!

Obviously you can’t beat a creamy pint of Guinness especially in Ireland, however if I’m drinking at home I love the bottles of Extra Stout nicer than the Guinness Draught cans imo.

Beamish is delicious stuff! You should try a Beanish. It's a beamish with a shot of espresso. I doubt many places would do it but you might get somewhere in cork that does

The bubbles on the glass on the second pint is a sign of a dirty glass,so a big no no IMHO.No excuse in this day and age.Surprised and disappointed you never pointed it out,I gave up drinking Guinness when they chilled it to 4 degrees. Guinness tastes nothing like it did 40 years ago,a mere shadow of its former self,if people knew what it tasted like then they wouldn't buy the rubbish they are selling now.

I enjoyed your video, but Guinness is the most overrated stout, it's not the same anymore it's mass produce that's is the problem, plenty of good independent stouts, but I find your videos entertaining and educational good work
