I'm so glad I found this channel. I'm surprised how no other youtuber or so called advisor is only looking at the average scenario and not at all considering the worst case scenario. I think this channel helps me prepare for the worst case scenario, while hoping for atleast the average case scenario.

You are Absolutely right about compounding effect in Mutual Fund and explained really well. People take concept with actuals. But i think Market crash must have lit up the minds where even 5 year Invesmtent became negative although recovered later on.

As always Great work sir, the message was clear and simple for a novice like me having 3 years of investing but its the mentality of Indians to make things complex...Just a 2 hr walk through of your blog and videos/ series on ones interest is enough for an individual to get a plan for long term and he/she can then go in detail of owns interest to get more knowledge and it did help me a lot. Unfortunately, people never account for how much work and effort has gone into each posts and videos for the sake of educating us. Hats off Sir. Long live and God bless.

i made my dad watch this. he was all about sip and how he was able to afford a 15 lakh SUV, he invested heavily and did sip between 2010-2014 and sold his mutual funds in nov2019 which was all-time high for the market. now he gets how luck played a part more than sip. mutual fund distributors just don't speak the truth.

Sales Guy: You should definitely invest in MFs in SIP mode to beat inflation... You'll get 12% CAGR at least...and ohh! Don't check your Portfolio for at least 10 years.. you should invest for long term... Do invest in one blue-chip, one mid-cap, one small-cap, one ELSS, one debt mf, one sectoral fund... That'll diversify your portfolio... Poor naive common man: it sounds logical... After 5 years of negative return... Poor guy: hey, my balance is negative... You said it'll give me at least 12% return... Sales guy: I told you not to look in portfolio for 10 years... These are temporary fluctuations... Market will boom after this bear run.. After 10 years Poor guy: hey, I'm still not getting any return... You've swindled me... I'll cash out before I suffer further loss... Sales guy doesn't even respond... Meets one office colleague... Colleague: what MFs did you invest in? Poor guy: X, Y and Z colleague: you made a terrible mistake... You should have gone for A,B and C... Poor guy starts over and repeats the same mistake...

Not a troll or a hater, infact I've been amazed at the amount of depth and detail you bring into your videos..but as content consumers or viewers one only hopes for more clarity but this doesn't do that. I'm saying this as a viewer who's subscribed to you and likes most of your videos.

Pattu Sir: If your SIP ends when the market is low and you end up not making any money, rather you lose 10-20% from your total investment, what are the options? Do you extend the period of SIPs and wait till the market goes up and then withdraw or can you keep the invested amount still in the fund and withdraw when the NAV goes up.

@Subhadeep : Please don't get him wrong. All that Pattu is saying is, don't just depend on time and luck to make your equity investment work. He is trying to make us understand that we need to recognize the risk, and try to minimize drawdown by tactical asset allocation. That way we can have a good night sleep and reach our goals. Just to make us aware of this he is trying to bust the myths created by AMCs/Agents about SIP. If you don't want to get into such complications, try to get a good dynamic asset allocator fund, that way tactical allocation will be taken care by fundmanager.
