I really like that Muzan treats the demons he commands differently between them. With Akuza, a demon who respects raw strength, he puts him in his place by making him feel weak as a punishment for not getting the results he wanted. With Daki a demon he knows values her own beauty. He compliments and treats with kindness and comparison. Even though we know that he's simply using her. Really shows that he's not just a bossy villain ordering minions around just to flex he's stronger than even them. He's cunning, he's manipulative and he knows how to make others follow orders in the fastest most efficient way possible.

The Upper Moons are powerful in the sense that they maintain the population under control, it's true. But without an army to get rid of the cockroaches, even if said army ends up crushed in the process, the insectd not only might adapt but become real nuisances. Do you really want to rule for eternity with nuisances by your side. I certainly do not. I prefer things quiet and organized.

Ironically the Blue Spider Lily only blooms at daytime, two or three days a year and when it does, it only blooms for a short period of time and then it closes back up. Muzan could've had humans search for it during daytime but he is so disgusted by them, he inevitably caused his own downfall.

Actually, call them as "demons" from the beginning is not quite right. The demons in demon slayers are known as "Oni" in Japanese dub. Oni is a supernatural creature in Japanese folklore. They are quite different with the western-style demons. The "Oni" counterpart in the Western world is the ogre. Sometimes, Oni is called as Japanese ogre, horned ogre or simply ogre. This show calls them as "demons", which i think not very fit. I mean "ogre slayer" sounds a good name, why not?

@@spideykong777 Objectively speaking, the writing isn't as good as other stuff. There are a lot of ass pulls; for example, Inosuke being able to shift his organ position just because he was raised in the woods, but it was never explained too well, inconsistent characters like Zenitsu all of the sudden becoming super serious (I really enjoyed it, but there was no build up to it), and the most important thing is that the characters weren't fully fleshed out, they weren't explored enough, which made most of the deaths unemotional and made the characters one-dimensional. I do respect your opinion, but objectively speaking, the writing was rushed, which is also justified because Gotuge thought that her/his work would get axed from Shonen Jump. The best writing would probably be the Kokushibo story. I'd enjoy some kind of spin-off with Yoriichi and Michikatsu.

@@Sagee_ agreed. I love Kimetsu no Yaiba to bits but my biggest gripe is the lack of fully fleshed out characters. I mean, Rengoku's death did not move me at all in the manga (but I cried in the movie because I'm easily moved by music top with such good voice acting.). But over all, Kimetsu no Yaiba deserves its seat as one of the best, purely because of how coherent the plot had moved. We had a good villain that was introduced as the main villain from the get go and the main motivation for the group. Compare this to another series that I love but I'm also critical of, Naruto. Naruto's Kaguya was a complete joke. She was not built up at all and just came out of nowhere.

The reason why I love Muzan as a villain is because of how realistic he can be. Muzan HATES change and that’s exactly why he doesn’t succeed. He believes himself to be perfect and he’s right no matter what. He just sends the 12 kizuki out without giving them any direction, he killed the lower kizuki when he could’ve used to thin out the ranks of the weaker demon slayers. He doesn’t acknowledge his own flaws and he doesn’t learn from his mistakes because he doesn’t believe that he makes mistakes. By refusing to accept change and being as arrogant as he is, Muzan never gets anywhere. He wants everything to come to him, but refuses to take the initiative to change his situation. There are people in real life who are just like Muzan, they want success but aren’t willing to actually put in the effort and refuse to accept that it’s their own flaws as people that are holding them back

What if that doctor was an ancestor of Kamado family? They said that the drug that the doctor used to cure Muzan was a prototype, means it was still not perfect yet. I assume that beside the Blue Spider Lily, the doctor used his own blood as an ingredient or catalyst for that drug. And therfore, Tanjiro and Nezuko, who are the descendants of that doctor, will inherit his blood. Or to be exact, Tanjiro & Nezuko's blood will have the same unique property as the doctor. If that were the case, it would explain how Tanjiro & Nezuko can conquer the sun while other demons can never achieve it. May be what Muzan needs to overcome the sun was NEVER the Blue Spider Lily but the blood of Kamado family. It is truly ironic because Muzan killed the entire Kamado family but he didn't even bother to eat a single one of them. If he had eaten at least one of them, he might have been able to conquer the sun as he has always dreamed. He has been wasting 1000 years for nothing. This is just my theory.

I wish Koyoharu Gotouge didn't feel the need to rush Demon Slayer because I felt like he created a very compelling universe that could've expanded but instead the pacing got super fast and lost a lot of the finer details of the world early on in the story. It didn't need to be Naruto but I think it wouldve been insane to see Demon Tanjiro become the new Muzan. That could've at least been another 4 arcs at least.

I was kinda disappointed that Tanjiro went full feral mode because the dude had willpower that puts half the Green Lantern Corps to shame and that he was pure person. Him deciding to save everyone by turning dying comrades into demons and saving the sick would've been cool af to see. I mean sure, some people are gonna a lil nutzo when that blood starts kickin in but I'm sure he could find a way to mellow them out. Or shit, just don't give dying folks a whole damn liter of blood. Holy water their ass with it and move on. Such a small amount aint gonna turn you into an Akaza. Anyway, that's my rant. But in summary, I agree with your desire for more story potential. This isn't saying I disliked it end. That shit had me happy and sad af. The emotional clashes and revelations in the Infinity Castle were painful man. So damn painful. Never thought I'd give a damn about the Wind hashira and his lil bro but that shit along with Upper 1's realization had me in hella tears...

May have some other notes: Rui said he was was favored by Muzan, to the point where his special blood was capable of changing what kind of demon the ones that drank it could be. This is NOT standard, as Daki and her brother came from the upper moon 2 who had vastly different abilities, and I think it’s because Muzan saw a lot of himself in Rui. May also be part of what had contributed to his eradicating the other lower moons, maybe just out of sheer anger. He is a timeless being with centuries under his belt, and the question of “why bother even considering them as a position” seems pretty valid.
