I've ordered 2 R1s with the external antenna. The 1st one worked great but was a bit hard to get the USB C cord into the port. Upon closer inspection, a bit of stringy print material was loose and had lodged into the port. I was able to remove that with tweezers. I ordered a second R1 about a week later and it was powered on when I opened the box. It took a lot of trying but eventually I was able to get the unit to power off. I emailed them for support but eventually they stopped responding. After disassembling the unit there was a bunch of loose stringy print material in both sides of the print. I believe this loose material contributed to improper tolerances and caused damaged to the switch when the two halves were screwed together. After buying a pack of assorted buttons on amazon and soldering one in, it works fine but not what I expected from a $90 device. I will say the design is very sleek but the quality control will keep me from recommending them to other people.

How easily can these be DF'd? Any guidance?
@Disastercommunications22 күн бұрын
Anything emitting rf can be direction found using yagi directional antennas. These may be harder since there is more devices in this frequency range but for someone who hunts, it wouldn’t be too hard. Any rf creates a footprint.

I don’t understand how it can off grid but require cell towers. Is this correct?
@Disastercommunications27 күн бұрын
No cell towers. It only uses the phones Bluetooth to talk to the radio. You don’t even have to use a phone. You can use a tablet as well.

it uses radio frequenzy to talk from radio to radio
