Woh! How amazing to see this. Happy to say I was in the audience at this marvelous pop up theatre build at the edge of the harbor, made up of sea containers. Grandiose production making a deep impression. Was looking for some footage quite some time, thought it was lost cos difficult to find some retrospective images, sounds or reviews. And now finding this complete live registration! Thanks very much for providing and keeping it accessible for future generations. Love it.

The production on this shows actual engagement with the material much unlike the publicised scam MET threw money at in 2019. How beautifully Dugardin fills the stage, a pleasure to see after such a disappointing performance by Constanzo. Such simple choreography and production design compared to the gaudy mess Pye and Gandini made. Bravo

"scam MET threw money at" ... well that's a bit of a stretch. I enjoyed Met's and I do enjoy this production as well. Minimalism at it's best. Narrators timing and tempo could be better tho

Thank goodness you can’t go wrong with Glass. The production is piss poor, and whomever called themselves audio/visual should’ve been fired and replaced with a bunch of AV teens who would’ve at least had the decency to keep the focus on the main voices. After watching four different versions of this stunning opera, this is by far my least favorite. Whereas the MET was almost too simplified, it at least leant itself to the dreamlike quality of the music. Everything here looks cheap and moderately rehearsed. That one shot of the three priest during ‘Window of Appearances’ says it all. Bad acting, lighting, staging, costumes, makeup, and again, piss-poor videography. If you’re going to do something this big, PLEASE respect the quality of the music. But thanks for posting, I love this opera.

This is the worst production of my favourite opera I've ever seen, by the time I reached the ' window of appearances' I gave up. terrible, stick to cheese making!!

There goes Willem Alexander and Maxima, the dutch still believe in kings and queens, and they tell the world that they don't discriminate.The Netherlands is a free country, they say, how could this be if they are all subjects? The same applies to England.
