I was introduced to the Rapid Eye project through Circa-Forever (Galen Behr & Orjan Nilsen Remix) and loved it. It's a modernized (2008) version of the original R.E.mix version, but they changed the timing of the build-up melody a bit. I'm so used to that timing that the original sounds strange to me. However, the original definitely set up the atmosphere perfectly.

Amazing interview. I dealt with Tim a lot when he worked at Amato distribution as I was the Trance buyer for a Coolcuts record store in Scotland called 23rd Precinct. I still have the original test pressings of Circa Forever that Tim kindly sent me as a gift. ATCR records is still one of the greatest Trance labels of all time in my opinion. I hope that Steve releases the Rapid Eye unreleased track on a future edition of the awesome Reconnected Vinyl series. Proud to say that I'm one of those collectors that has every volume released so far. Thanks for everything you do Twan.

Such an amazing track that reminds me so much on 2002 times. Blank & Jones were playing this so much. I dont like trance music anymore for the last 15 years, but some of his tracks and remixes will be forever in my head and anthems in my life. Steve is when it comes to making beautiful melodies close there behind Laurent Veronnez. I dont have many talents but i can read people and with Steve its so easy to see that he is a great human. Exactly as Airwave.

Amazing to learn more about Steve, his sounds are amongst the absolute best in the history of the trance scene! This specific vlog is very relevent to me as i have been searching for a 12" of Circa Forever but i refuse to be ripped off for it. As I've seen they are big money and few and far between. So those Reconnected vinyls i am going to have a look at if it gets me a new 12" of Circa Forever🙌. The R.E remix is my absolute favourite. For Steve to say its just a day and its dusted is mind blowing because for me the way the melody hits and pads work together so seamlessly and in a way that i class that track and remix amongst my all time favourites. I've never had the studio talent to create my own tracks, i tried some DAWs some years ago but I'm just not made for it. I have always had ideas though! But the notion of ghost producers is frowned upon. Seeing the picture of Steve and M.i.k.e at The Shambles in York was so cool. York is a favourite place of ours to visit when the weather is on point. I'm rambling now, but i just wanted to extend my appreciation for everything Steve has done and to Twan for bringing these vlogs to the people

A really enjoyable interview with Steve that felt like it was only 5 minutes long and way too short! A favorite part was hearing Steve being 're-connected' with vinyl during the lockdown and becoming reacquainted with this format. I hear a lot of comments about earlier releases of Re-connected being unavailable so I hope he can re-release some again if the demand is there.

Thank you so much! And I think (not 100% sure, but from my experience I guess it is this way) if he would re-release the earlier Re-connected releases, it would need to be at least 1000 copies to make if affordable for Steve time and money wise. He has to license the tracks from the labels and if he would only press let's say 250 copies, the fees for licensing would be not enough to make it afforable. And I'm not sure if the "new" earlier releases would sell 1000 copies again. As he already explained in the interview, it is a lot of work and of course he needs to make a living too ;-)

I think you have interviewed most of the early dance classics pioneers... except Vincent de moor or Andrew perring AKA pulser. I know that Vincent de moor shit won't be like possible like ever but Andrew perring just disappeared from his social media all of a sudden. His insigma project with helstrip looked like an alternative tiesto sound

Yeah, I used to have Andy on Facebook, but at one point he did announce on his socials that he would take them all down and focus on other things. As Steve already said in the interview, Andy did move to another country and he's not really DJ-ing anymore either. So the chances of doing an interview with him seem pretty slim. But as I mentioned in the interview, I would love to do an interview with Andy! So hopefully one day ;-) And yes, VDM... How cool would an interview with him be? But I don't think this will ever happen.... BTW, some other cool names that hardly ever do / did interviews are in the works for later this year, hopefully it will all work out!
