6:40 Fatoumata🌬💨 💕is Mother to Earth. She speaks Essence that everyone should know . Why everyone doesn’t, is because common human is distracted from his natural artistic abilities. Why? Because all world governments, except rare ones, like Denmark, make people struggle for BASIC human NEEDS so that they lose track of what really matters: Music and Spirit. Love 💕 to all of you from Oregon USA 🇺🇸 I have always loved Africa and her music, since I was a child. I am a white lady….

I thankfully got to see her 2 summer's ago at the Celebrate Brooklyn free outdoor concerts in prospect park and she was just mesmerizing and had the crowd up and dancin up a storm the entire show. Don't miss her if you have a chance to see her!! I love all types of African music but especially music from Mali..where she's from. My biggest African music love is Fela from Nigeria..phew I wish I could have seen him! If you like afrobeat I highly recommend seeing his son Seun Kuti who plays with Fela's old band Egypt 80. I like Femi but Seun is way more like his dad when it comes to afrobeat! Ms. Diawara though is so special. I can't imagine anyone not having the best time at one of her shows! The rythyms and grooves along with her voice is pure magic!!
@michaelreich97145 жыл бұрын
Indeed. The African guitar players have given us a unique take on that instrument. If you are in NYC, I urge you to support your local symphony orchestra. Most municipally supported orchestra's in the US are dying. Well, it could just be musical evolution. Drop the Mic and pass the Barf Bag.

The guitarists are capoed up. Meaning, their harmonic explorations are confined to the "sweet spot" of the vocalist. I would really love to see the guitarist stretch out. His technique is awesome. In this ensemble, I think that it is the drummer that holds it together. Not being confined by harmony, he is the one that really gets to explore this genre. And he is very good at it.
