I love the iconic sound of the STAG muzzle breaks. That marvellous pop. Certainly turns heads and what a lovely gun to shoot. Pellet on pellet at 50 yards. Lovely work gents 😁

Precision work. Need one advice Jeff. I hv built a 22 cal air rifle. Now the valve Ceat is 6 mm I'd, plenum is 78 cc. I hv Fx 500 mm heavy liner barrel with dual transfer port. The block I am using has 5 mm transfer port hole. I need to increase it. U think 5.7 mm Wil be good? I hv space for 6 mm or more.
@sub12airgunners9 ай бұрын
yes 5.7 will be a good start 👍

really on an air rifle it's just for looks but on a powder burner it would stop muzzle flip / hide the flash

I see this error all the time with airguners and muzzle brakes. And that's there's relatively low pressure gas coming out so having a huge first chamber vents inefficiently. What works better is a short first chamber so the first higher pressure gas jets out stronger, THEN have a second chamber being 50 % longer where the remaining gas can vent out sideways. My testing shows that there's not much gas reaches a third chamber from the muzzle on an air rifle (it DOES on firearms but NOT on an airgun. Understand there's a significant difference).
@jeffhello14448 ай бұрын
This is a sub 12lbft airgun the brake is just for looks something a bit different, we made a shroud for it which is so quite the gun sounds broken so we did the brake for looks and maybe add a little crack to the report i wouldn't think a brake would do anything on a sub 12lbft pcp no matter how the chambers are configured 👍👍 thanks for watching
@bobjoatmon19938 ай бұрын
@@jeffhello1444 no, not as a brake BUT I've built muzzle brakes that were actually air strippers (mount the stripper cone on the divider between the first and second chambers) which helped accuracy because the pellets stabilized sooner since there was much less blowby past the skirt of the pellet. You want the gap between the muzzle and the cone entrance to be 80 to 90% of caliber, if it's more than a caliber then the air stripper becomes less effective.

It was not ideal at all, and the closing process was very complicated and long, and because you talk a lot, instead of talking so much, you used your own mind and you did not make so many screws to close a fire extinguisher, you are very short-sighted.
