Hello. Love the video. I am 54 years old and new to guns. Even though I'm not that old I can already feel that I'm not as strong or as quick as I used to be. So I purchased my M&P Shield 3 years ago but it's sat in a drawer. Six months ago I began watching your videos. Three months later I began to take my gun out to the range and began shoot it using what I had learned from your videos. Last month I got my concealed carry license. I'm still waiting for it in the mail. In the meantime I continue to watch and learn from your videos. I am also searching for a one on one lesson as you guys suggest to continue getting more training. Thank you for giving me the courage to take the gun out of the drawer and start learning to defending myself and the ones I love. And again thank you so much.

While it's not from Geuaga , search John Murphy FPF training. I learned so much from this course. It's on KZbin. Basically a full concealed carry course of a high caliber level.

Great plan Ernest. PAY for quality instruction. Even a few hours will make you such a better shooter. Also, look into local pistol competitions. You have them nearby. You can enter them. Steel Challange is most likely the best to start. You're not going to win but 1st & last place pays the same. Heres a really good place to start: practiscore.com/dashboard/home

Another thing I've learned from Neil, is that you need to be physically fit as well as tactfully with a gun... The situation may arise,to where for what ever reason you may have to depend on physical skills!

This is great info. I had a older gentleman range master that came over while I was shooting. And I had the gun cleared and the slide locked back. I had the gun pointed down at the ground and he came over and took the gun from me and told me that even when it is fully cleared it needs to always be pointed down range even if I had a holster. I was perfectly fine with him coming over and discussing safety with me but the fact he came over and yelled at me and took the gun from my hands

Serious question; When using position SUL would it ever become a "problem" having my support hand behind my weapon? If for example I found myself quickly transitioning to "close quarters" situation that my support may need to be "free" to maybe manage an unknown contact? .....if that makes any sense. Thanks and be safe! Randy

Temple index seems like it would obscure sounds coming from that side. Am I seeing it incorrectly or is that not something taken into mind when planning?

Good advice that many of us probably don't think about as much as we should (or train to at all (I would guess) in most cases). Quick question: From an LE perspective, if my wife and I come home to a kicked-in front door, should we back off and take up a covered position (behind the car, etc.) and call 911? Alternative 2 would be to enter the home and risk coming face-to-face with who knows what. The house could be empty... or not.
@geaugafirearmsacademy5 жыл бұрын

Your weapon should be holstered unless you are in a combat situation. If you are in combat then point your weapon in the direction you expect the assailant to come from. Most of your video is for police or miltiary people not for civilians.

I like your videos but do everyone that's watching a favor. You got a black shirt on or jacket and you're holding a black gun it is kind of hard to see if you're viewing this on a small screen. So it would help viewers if you wore a lighter color jacket or shirt that way they can see your firearm.
