There is no more beautiful sound then the sound of the historic MV Agusta's! It always gives me goosbumps. No modern bike has that sound!

I spectated at the Daytona races in 1971 and the sound of the BSA and Triumph triples was awesome. Hearing this MV at speed would be a similar thrill I bet.

The MV had a deeper more sonorous note that the BSA & Triumph triples which also sounded fantastic I could hear John Cooper's BSA above the MV as he & Ago diced for the lead at the 1971 Race of the Year at Mallory Park but the roar of the 50000 crowd drowned the sound of both bikes when Cooper passed Ago to take the flag.

I had the pleasure of watching Ago racing Hailwood at Brands Hatch in the late 1960's - a fantastic rider and he always came across as a nice guy as well.

We saw/heard Phil Read on the Mv in 1976 at the Hutchinson hundred at Brands. What a sound! You could hear it bellowing

I had a photo taken with Ago many years ago in NZ with me showing him my tattoo of him on an MV, to say he was surprised was an understatement!

Some of us are of an age to have seen these bikes plus their riders when they were state of the art, Ago MV, Hailwood Honda, Pasolini Benelli, Read and Ivy on V4 Yamaha, Bryans, Redman, Taveri Honda, Billy Nelson on the Paton twin, all unsilenced, plus a host of British singles, the best years. Racing might be incredibly fast these days but the style, the noise the variety and worst of all, the magic, have all gone. I'm one of the lucky ones.

Me too.

I don't see any relevance to your nasty comments. The works bikes had works riders, the privateer couldn't buy one even if he had the money. The bikes ran unsilenced, seriously ear splittingly loud, a grid with an MV4, perhaps two or three Honda sixes, a Benelli four or two, two four cyinder two stroke Yamahas, a couple of works MZs... unbelievable noise when the flag dropped. Add to that the privateer jobs, the Paton and Linto twins, a host of Yamaha twins, Manx Nortons, AJS and Matchless singles, perhaps the odd Triumph engined special...sorry Johnny Boy but it was magical....you're obviously of an age where you'll never understand.

Walter Tacey Agree. I must be new compared to you but since i ride a Yamaha 2008 motard that runs with carbuburator, no electronics and i have 10 years+ experience riding and watching Motogp and have talked to some people, the ones that "knows the most" say that today ride style mainly Marc marques riding style is artificial, its not organic, it is just not possible without electronics. The rider is important but electronics are a decisive factor nowadays. Nowadays guys that ride more organically are Valentino, Stoner (ret), MAYBE Lorenzo (cause he is smooth as hell). Marc would need some time to learn how to drive without electronically babysitter . Vinales is a hell of a rider but also has the same problem of Marc. Its was magical back in your time dude!

its not about competing sounds from years gone by! Its about the awesome sounds all race bikes make! All racing vehicles make! I am a 2 stroke fanatic but I don't diminish how sexy this MV is! "Jap or Yank", the sounds can be debated by those who own them!
