Just a little background for you: RM says 'don't call me a spoon; I'm a person.' In the early years BTS was called dirty spoons by netizens. If the cream of society are called gold spoons, then dirt spoons are the lowest of the low (after silver spoons and tin spoons). Also, the lyrics of the song address the amount of pressure young people are under in Korea. Students spend long hours in school and then go to private schools (called cram schools) for more extensive studies in different subjects like math, English, Korean, etc. They often don't get home until 9 or 10 o'clock and rarely have much family time since many parents take on 2nd jobs to pay for the cram schools. On top of that, students are ranked in schools and their rankings are public for all to see. With the family making financial sacrifices teens are under intense pressure to succeed and get into the 'good' universities and get a 'good' job. That's why the lyrics to this song say it's okay to fail and that the time to make mistakes is when you are young. And that's why, at the end of the song, Suga says "I'll forgive you." It's a constant refrain from their earliest song: It's your life. Don't live someone else's dream.

“FIRE” is the lead single from “The Most Beautiful Moment In Life: Young Forever”, a compilation album of the aforementioned two EPs with new tracks and remixes. The cut feels like an upgraded version of “Dope”, a standout single off BTS' The Most Beautiful Moment In Life, Pt. 1 EP, with its aggressive combination of zipping synthesizers, trap percussion and group chants. “Fire” stands out for the snippets of house production and twitching electronics, while the boys deliver some of their most impressive rap sections to date, with member J-Hope particularly shining in the track’s opening verse. The accompanying music video also oversees the members of BTS whipping out their most intense choreography since their debut in 2013. At one moment, BTS look at risk to suffer from whiplash from their quick group moves, and at other times they’re serving straight-up Matrix with the impressive slo-mo choreo. Simultaneously, they are also telling the party poopers, or in other words, the adults, and society to back off from telling the teens to instead rot away with their nose in a textbook. I’m just a human (So what~) This alternative translation is a direct translation. Here BTS address each other as “spoons” which is actually a South Korean concept for social status. You have to remember that the drinking age in most of the world is 18 or 19. The USA is 21 but isn’t not the case in most other countries. In South Korea the drinking age is 19 (international age). When this MV dropped, V and Jimin were 20 turning 21 later in the year. JK was 18 turning 19 later in the year.

They do give time/space for singing, but they are subtle and detailed in how they do it. Like the center position dances less-intensively when singing. Or the melodic structure is stacatto - and those stacatto breaks in the smooth melodic flow are breathing moments. Look at the songs' textures. Also, they pass song lines off to each other. It's really rare for the entire group to be singing in unison. It's super teamwork. It's very much like the way you guys work together.

It has been said that they practice singing while on a tredmill. In their concerts that may use a backtrack but the majority of the vocals are live, while they are dancing. What you may not know is that BTS used to practice singjng whilst running on a treadmill when they were trainees. So that they can now sing live for every performance whilst doing incredibly hard dance routines. Also they have an amazing talent for always having a camera ready face , so never showing that they are knackered always smiling,sultry and playful till they get off stage.. Love the channel guys 💜

Pretty sure BTS is one of if not the only group that debuted in 2013 that is still around. The idol industry has a bit of a "7-year curse" because that's how long typical contracts last but in addition, a lot of groups wind up disbanding or being put on indefinite hiatus because they just do not succeed the way the company wants them too. That is one of the amazing things about the relationship between BTS and their label; even when Big Hit was facing bankruptcy they did not disband BTS or anything like that. They believed in their ability to succeed and look where it got them now.

this song is very powerful in the context of korea's strict school system which frames higher education as the most important goal in life. there is a large number of students who suffer mentally from this pressure and who feel like there is no space to be non-conforming or "a loser" in any way.

They are even better and more passionate live... they do put solo songs and stuff in between some of the high intensity songs but literally they have staff with oxygen tanks waiting as members come down from how hard they go on stage. You will rarely see them falter on stage, but there is footage of them literally collapsing/needing help to walk as soon as they exit stage. They are serious about their performances.

They are on their early 20's when this song came out. But you need to know something, south korea is the country that allowed children to drink alcohol when they are 20 (korean age). So if you are 20 and live in south korea, they allowed you to drink even in the morning. On every restaurant they always provide alcohol. And also the reason why drunken is a common thing in korea, because they have "drinking culture". Even they do drunk together with their parents/children, when they have something to celebrate.

So US legal drinking age is high compared to many other countries. I remember JK not being allowed to drink in the US even though he been doing it in Korea for years. Legal drinking age in Korea is 19. Also the year/date of the MV's is in the beginning of the MV down on the left, you see 2016.04.28 at 11:38. JK is born '97 and in Korea you are one year old at birth + you turn one year older every new year (not on your birthday). So even though JK is born 1 sept '97 he was 20 years old by korean age when the MV came out april 2016 but in the US he was only 18. I tried to scroll down to see if anyone answered yet but didn't see anything.

Fire came out about the time when they filmed bon voyage season one in Scandinavia (hard recommend) and there you see them drink on camera for the first time because JK had become legal or something like that (bon voyage season 3 is the highlight of drunk bts though, they get completely wasted and JK buskes in the streets) - oh you should watch the edit "drunk bts is the best bts" btw, it's very funny :))
