I really don't understand why people were so pressed about WOH, yeah maybe some lyrics may be interpreted wrong, but they are not that bad. If you don't complain about western artists sexualing women on a daily basis on many songs than don't complain about BTS. Snoop Dogg famously sings, "bitches ain’t shit but hoes and tricks". Hip-hop is full of this. And I could continue with many other songs. Country music as well. Even alternative rock. A song shouldn't define who you are. Yes they made a mistake, but they own it and fix the problem which is more important. If you forgive other artists that have made bigger mistakes in the past, but they had the willingness to change than BTS shouldn't be an exception. Their lyrics are checked by a feminist (or something like that, can't remember exactly) so they don't make other mistakes. Still the song is a bop and I love it.

“War of Hormone” is the 3rd track on BTS' first studio album, Dark&Wild. They released it’s music video on KZbin on October 21st, during their concert tour. When “War of Hormone” was released, many people accused the song of being misogynistic, with lyrics that state “women are the best gift” and they should “wear high heels more often”. Netizens believed that the song was objectifying women. On July 6, BigHit Entertainment posted on their official fancafe in response to the outcry: “We recognized the controversy about misogynistic lyrics in BTS’s songs at the end of 2015. After reviewing the lyrics, we found that some of them could be perceived as misogynistic, regardless of the intentions of the creator, and could make some people uncomfortable. The agency as well as all of BTS feel very apologetic towards all the fans who have may have felt uncomfortable from any lyrics or social network posts, and we will take the criticisms and the points in question into consideration for future works. Through self review and discussion, we’ve learned that we can’t be free of societal prejudices and mistakes, as they are a part of each individual’s growth and experiences, things that are seen and learned in society. We’ve also learned that defining a woman’s position or value in society from a man’s point of view could be wrong. We feel heavily responsible for not being more careful with the production of BTS contents, and causing everyone so much worry. Please continue to watch BTS grow, and if you would continue to point out our shortcomings, we will continue to work hard, always listening to the words of our fans and society.”

I love how they listen to feedback and take everyone's feelings into consideration. I am impressed by their willingness to learn and grow, and honestly don't blame them for mistakes, we all make them in our youth, the important thing is to have good intentions and work with others to improve yourself. I wish more artists were this open to constructive criticism.
@yasminesb79474 жыл бұрын
@@JadeReloaded Totally agree.. Moreover, from then on they started to submit their lyrics to university experts on social phenomena to make sure not to offend any community and to respect everyone's sensibilities, and finally to be fair in their commitment... I would have liked the politicians who manage our societies today to do the same, but unfortunately they are only dividing.

One part i think that gets overlooked is that i think them being “gross boys” was part of their point, they just didn’t stick the landing and went too far into misogyny. I think it was intended as one of the immature sections of life the boys “grow” thru in the BTS storyline. They start being indoctrinated into toxic masculinity and have to let it go when they learn to love themselves & find their true selves and what real love is.

I still bop to this song to this day although so many were pressed about it. Like I think people forget they were just a group of teen boys (take or leave a year or two in Korean age). I do get how everyone's interpretations are different and maybe it's because a lot of western rap music so overtly sexualizes women and Korea is on another spectrum for what's classified as disrespectful, but the hate this song would get was so annoying and I personally think exaggerated 😒

They release a lot of just them projects on sound cloud. Other than the story line the vocal line doesn't have a solo project yet. V 's is coming out soon. JK says he is working on his. One of the songs that was released on the Japanese song was suppose to be on it. The middle bar is Romanization, one thing about that is that the sounds are different. Like K in Kim is pronounced more like a G and Park sounds more like a mix of P and B. and sounds like they are saying Bark. They are more heavy on the consonants than vowels. and tongue placement is different also. Korean Unnie and everyday Korean is really great to watch. Plus BTS has some stuff call Learn Korean with BTS

5:33 My theory is that with the change of focus of the CEO being more to idol group than Hip Hop group, the boys had more space to develop more their own tastes, after all Jin and Jungkook more fans of pop and melodic music than Hip Hop (JK still likes rap style a lot, but he always wanted to be a singer), V likes rap too, but he also wanted to be a singer, so much that J-Hope gave him the job of sub-vocalist and became one of rappers (which I'm very grateful for, I love the J-Hope's rap style), Jimin wanted to be a singer from the beginning too.
@ARMYnotArmy4 жыл бұрын
People have a lot of trouble with the age thing. So JK was 13 years old when he joined BigHit he was about to be 14, he was 15 in 2013 when they debuted (He was about to turn 16 in Sept. though) And when War of Hormone came out he was 17(All these are international ages by the way) but by Korean age he was already 18 which is why his line says he's 18, even interviews and such at that time he had mentioned he was 18 because in accordance to his country- he was. As others mentioned- some people got pressed about this song, most not realising it was satirical in a sense. RM was so hurt by the hate he got for writing it that he had problems for a bit till BigHit and the other members helped him through it- But to avoid that situation again RM got BigHit to agree to having future songs checked over by a womans specialist. It was ridiculous some of the things people were saying about him- including claiming some very inappropriate things about not just him, but a few other members too. I remember a few Antis trying to say the girl in the video was assaulted by a certain member and that they knew this because she was a personal friend. Of course, that person was lying. A lot of ARMYs from back then don't talk about it much but I remember how horrible it was to see some of those accusations. Great reaction- I love the whole Dark N Wild album and to me it's still underappreciated as an album. But if you get the chance you should see the War Of Hormone dance practice 'war version'. You won't regret it, it's amazing. Thanks again for the reaction. 💜💜

Just for your information, (because you said alien-made-like letters ;) Korean letter system/alphabet (called Han Geul) is the only letter system in the world that was intentionally invented by the Great King Sejong in 1443 and has the full explanation of how it was made. It’s phonetic and all the characters were made based on the shapes of vocal chords and mouth when that specific sound is made. Super easy to learn (obviously hard to learn to be fluent in Korean language itself but I mean about the letter itself.) Even my husband, who can’t speak Korea, could read a Korean children’s book to my nephew although he didn’t know what it meant.

I think life experience is the quality that changed in his voice because he always sings with emotion. He now accept that he gets emotional and lets us see it. "Hangul occupies an important part of the Korean identity, both North and South, for two significant reasons. The first is that while Korean has borrowed many words from Chinese, grammatically the two languages are nothing alike, with Korean possessing a much more complex grammar. For millennia, various forms of Korean were written with Chinese characters, or pictographs, even though they were ill suited for the grammatical intricacies of the Korean language. Hangul resolved those issues, and would go on to help further define Korean identity compared with the Chinese writing system, which had infused Korean with a large Sino-Korean lexicon, and many Chinese cultural ideas. Secondly, Korea has always been a strategically vital peninsula and has thus endured many invasions and occupations by powerful neighbors China and Japan. The rise of Korean nationalism in the late 19th century is deeply intertwined with Hangul and the notion of cleansing the language of foreign, non-Korean influences (language purism, as it were), as is the pride Koreans take in their alphabet, reflected in Hangul Day, a national holiday celebrated every October 9." - from ozy

About being humble 🤔 I think a part of that is because they not only have success but a lot of pressure and hate, so they They only thought about improving, in many of their lives with army, they were words like "what am I doing wrong, what should I improve" It's sad, but I think that also made a way to value things more. The difficult road, they had a difficult time, and everything they lived was unfair, but that helped them a little, to strengthen and know that not everything is pink, feet on the ground.

Fun fact: deeper voices take longer to mature. It takes a longer time for baritones ( like v) and basses to get their full range and its harder to control lower voice at first. V was 18 at this point, so his voice hadn't fully matured. Maybe that was why on older tracks he used to sing in a more growly style.
@BriBee12354 жыл бұрын
To clarify, you can make it through puberty and not quite have a fully matured singing voice. For basses they wouldn't have their full voice until their 20s. There are exceptions to this of course, but if you listen closely the vocal lines voices have all matured since when the started out

The main vocalist is jungkook and Jimin is the lead vocalist, while Jungkook is the lead dancer and Jhope and Jimib are both the main dancers. If you're confused about the difference between lead and main, basically for example the lead dancer (jungkook) is very skilled but is considered secondary to the main dancer (Jhope and Jimin) , the lead vocalist (jimin) has the most lines after the main vocalist, same with rappers.

V and Jimin are 95 line they went to school together... JK born in 1997 was in school also. he is known as the Golden Maknae. Maknae is the youngest in the group. He is golden because how he exceeds at everything he does. ( J Hope and Namjoon are same age 1994) ( Suga was born in 1993 and Jin is the oldest 1992)

lol the han/rom/eng is the different language its in. han stands for hangul which is korean. rom stands for the romanized version which is the ones that you're trying to sing along to haha. and ofc eng stands for english. the romanized version is just hangul written in english letters so you know how to pronounce it. when you're learning hangul its an easy way to know the pronounciations of korean letters and words, but you would normally write the word in korean lettering instead of the romanized version.
