Great to see the Caledonian Isles back again. Hope that it will bring me back to Arran one more time. God bless her and all who sail on her.

Great to watch. I saw this vessel built from start to finish, when I worked at CWS Lowestoft. The factory yard overlooked Richards slipway and I also saw the launch and maiden sail away, for what became the last vessel built there..

That's wonderful and also very sad. Memories for life for sure. It would've been great to see the launch 🙂I have a great piece of film I took 2 days ago when she turned 180 degrees in the berth. I'll post that very soon. Cheers

The next time we'll probably see Caly Isles arrive bow first at Brodick will probably be when the Ardrossan service moves to Troon again due to easterly wind. As I doubt this will be the last time this year the ferry service moved to Troon because of weather issues, great video once again.

Yes it is, 'nice to see'!! Very cautious, compared with some of the hand-brake turns and reverse slams into dock you've captured in earlier videos.😂

Ive got a cracking video from yesterday of the boat sinning 18 degrees, seeded up, but I'm not sure about posting it in the circumstances

We should be very proud that Scotland's Islands have the best , most reliable, cheapest, most extensive, youngest ferry fleet and most heavily Government subsidised ferry service in the world compared to rUK, New Zealand, Canada and many more.

True. But it was nice to see her. I just appreciate what I have and take the credit for my own decision to live here, putting miles of water between me and the mainland. I hope others can do the same.

Absolutely appalling 🤬How can anyone have trust in a ferry service that is so prone to failure? And taking MV Isle of Arran off for servicing and leaving the Ardrossan-Brodick route with NO service tomorrow (and for longer probably) is outrageous. I assume @davetheraverovingtherock doesn't rely on getting to and from the mainland unlike many other islanders and tourists?
@davetheraverovingtherockАй бұрын
@@IanTupmanOutdoors I made decision to come here. I can change my mind, it's up to me. I know what the ferry is like. I chose to put a ferry service between me and everything else. A had a choice I was lucky to make and I dont regret it. The ferry epitomises everything I love about being an islander. I dont go to the mainland often...if I did I really should be living there. not here. If so...poor choice. I accept and am lucky to have my life here just as it is, ferry and all. Calmac did really well getting MV Hebridean Isles with no notice and have had nowhere near enough raise for the decision to hire MV Alfred. These two decisions are proving to be great ones right now for others people who wish to travel.
