Everyone went crazy when this first dropped because Mamamoo was just being themselves and being sexy. Ex. Hwasa's outfits, expressions and voice, Solar's vocals and POLE dancing, Wheein honey-like voice and visuals, and Moonbyul's fire raping, and just everything. Kpop now is a bit free now compared to how it was then (maybe thanks to Mamamoo). Everything Mamamoo did was a shock to the kpop world. I stan the standard!!

There are a variety of Spanish diaspora references in Egotistic so I don't think the Mexican mention is out of place, just incomplete. You could say they're always themselves but the unusual things you noted about Wheein - the temporary tattoos and the nose piercing - are a clue to the character she plays in the MV. To back up a step, Egotistic is the Summer/Red title track in the 4 Season 4 Color project and Red is the color of Passion in the 4S4C color scheme. Each member expresses her personal take on Red & Passion in response to the egotistic lover they're dumping. So Wheein is a badass bitch on wheels who's so red-hot with anger she burns his guitar in effigy and dances in the flames. The other members' costumes and actions and the objects associated with them likewise express their take on red/passion: Hwasa's jaguar and bathtub = wild, fierce & uninhibited; Solar's sexy costumes, come hither looks and pole dancing = sensual, provocative & liberated; Moonbyul's chair tossing = independent & defiant. The reason for the Spanish theme is explained cinematically & musically in the MV intro: Moonbyul's tear (passionate emotions) become the Red Moon logo in her mind's eye (the emotions generate the art/music) and the passion & duende at the core of flamenco are the primal source of the song and the necklace. It's almost an essay on music being the universal language - the emotions are common to us all and in this case the music used to express them starts in Spain and incorporates the Caribbean (the reggaeton beat) and Latin America on it's way to Korea.

No, Wheein doesn't have that baddass tattoo but she has more pretty and meaningful tattoos, which were mostly drawn by her if you remember from the guide. And also no they don't have their nose pierced afaik. also also talking about the album review yes hwasa can rap bcs she is in the rapline she also wrote a diss rap before debut. the rapline has their own song too called "dab dab" and talking about 'Sky Sky' lmao the song is a cf song and it isn't that bad it sounds more like a gfriend song and the mv is cringey which the member and the fandom make fun of lol

I totally agree that they embrace their sexiness! I feel like more often than not, kpop girl groups tend to be super sexy and bold on stage but their public persona is much more tamed in comparison and it's kind of disappointing. Mammamoo feels super genuine to who they are, whether they're performing on stage, filming an MV, or doing interviews.

whenever i see someone being surprised at Hwasa rapping i dont know why but i always feel proud, the latest rap she have ever did was way back her maria album in her song kidding . and it was totally fire . hwasa is a very good lyricist and is a lead rapper , she just dosen't rap as much as she did before . i hope she'll rap more again because istg , if byul have this amaizing clean , natural and cool flow , hwasa have the gangster/hard type of flow and it's so cool, the reason why us moos are thirsty for her raps lol

Hwasa is the lead rapper hahaha she was featured in a few songs where she raps too! I think it's Hyuna's "Ice Ice" and HookGa's "HookGa" and many more. You should check a compilation of her rapping!!! She's really good

Not about this video but fyi Wheein can hit whistle notes, in fact her range is higher than hwasa´s. You should check their song Woo Hoo, It reminds of Mariah Carey. She only sing that part live once, so people never knew who was the one making that beautiful angelic sound, until they watch that specific performance. Btw i really enjoy your videos, xo
