This is why Himejima is my favourite hashira. Also "FUN" FACT: In the manga extra it's revealed that Sayo blame herself still for not being able to speak up and defend Himejima since she was so terrified, she couldn't talk well and tell of the demon. And she still wish to meet him again and apologize....

I will never not be upset at the bros referring to Nezuko conquering the Sun to be plot armor or an ex-machina. It wasn't like it was just the author backpedaling some decision to kill Nezuko, or trying to do cheap shock value. The hints to it being possible were literally laid out from Season 1. From her family knowing SUN Breathing, to Nezuko being a special demon, to her Blood Art mimicking the sun's abilities, to Tamayo's research, to Nezuko growing new abilities under moments of stress (especially when her brother is involved, which plays into her character of her trying to shoulder the burdens that Tanjiro put on himself after the death of his father), and tons of other things. And not to mention. It was very, very clearly foreshadowed, and the situation in the arc was set up not as a bait-and-switch (it happened in the same CHAPTER in the manga), but it was set up to progress the plot. But beyond ALL of that, it wasn't reductionary in the slightest, because it actually added stuff, not took it away! And it actually made things WORSE for the protagonists, not BETTER! The entire time in the story beforehand, Muzan was a passive villain who just sat on his ass and did nothing to move the plot around, except sometimes be kind of angry and delegate his minions. But AFTER Nezuko conquers the Sun, Muzan is immediately moved into being an active villain. He's now a threat, the story is put on a clock, and in the very next arc he's systematically trying to uncover the secrets of the Demon Slayer Corps, then wipe them out. Nezuko conquering the Sun shifted the plot into overdrive (something that this arc failed to showcase, since the anime added TONS of filler compared to the manga). To be honest, I think this is a symptom of the Bros doing that thing they do. You know, where they get frustrated or upset with part of a story not going in a way they want, so they start being a bit more disingenuous to what it's trying to do. Instead of seeing the big picture, they break everything down into its tropes and observe them all on a minute, context-less, individual level. It's a bit sad.

I know right. Next ep it really crosses into a comical amount of time spent on him walking, but it somehow doesn’t kill the vibe for me, it’s just fun. The amount of camera effects and edits for him taking steps is so funny.

The thing that still gets me about the kid that sold out Himejima and the others is: he had to get rid of the wisteria incence so the demon could come in So why didn't he just go in the house? The demon literally couldn't do anything

If I had to defend him: it’s the stupidity of a child in the face of this terrifying monster not thinking “oh I can just hide and be safe” but instead “if I don’t listen to the demon it’ll kill me, maybe I’ll be fine if I do what it says”

Kaigaku is interesting to me. It always feels like people hold the Himejima moment against him when realistically what the hell could he have done? Died standing his ground? Idk how old he was but it can’t have been old enough to be prepared for that. You can absolutely blame his ass for what he does next though.

​@@seta2710I mean he did have other options besides die or help the demon, Some that I think would have occured to him if he cared even a little about the people there. He could have told the demon he'd put out the wisteria, Gone back to the temple pretending that's what he's going to do and instead run inside and warn them once he's reached the wisteria, He's got to get right next to it to put it out so I doubt he would have been unable to get inside once he's gotten that close to the wisteria. I mean once he's close enough to the wisteria, What's the demon going to do? Either way yes blame his ass for what he does next the traitorous little snake, Cannot wait to see his head go flying.
