Monsta x said they weren't worried about the charts because this was a gift for monbebe. When you look at the MV that way it suddenly becomes even more beautiful. I was reading the lyrics to the song on 1thek channel and just soaking in all the things they wanted to say to us monbebes. They are telling us they love us, and that even if they wander around we are the only light that shines for them, and that for that reason they want to shine for us too. At that moment when Hyungwon says "I can't be satisfied, I want to see you smile like that again" it just made my heart break, it makes the significance of this gift for us even bigger. They didn't do it for the charts, they did it because they like to see us happy, they want to see us happy all the time. That last scene with the lightsticks that made everyone go wow, doesn't it make you realize how important we are to them? It's like they're performing on stage when suddenly the sea of monbebes lights up before them, shining brighter than they've ever seen before. They look around at all the lightsticks, dumbfounded, barely able to believe how much monbebes really love them. Keep up the good work monbebe!! Let's keep on shining for our boys

The blindfold represents all the people who still haven't taken theirs off and continue to sleep on monsta x. Edit: I was one of those people too but someone I follow on tumblr was a monbebe and I checked them out around early 2016 and loved hero. When they released all in I was like "sign me up" and added them to my long list of groups that I stan because multifandom is the best fandom. Minhyuk caused an accident that resulted in the damaging of Kihyun's eye sight. Wonho told Jooheon about the accident and Jooheon wanted to fight Minhyuk. The members stopped Jooheon and when Shownu knew that Kihyun's eye sight has been damaged, he couldn't contain his anger so he punched Minhyuk. Minhyuk felt guilty and Kihyun consulted him. Kihyun was blindfolded by Hyungwon. At last, other than Kihyun MONSTA X members lighted up the forest (Shownu found the lightsticks) so that he could regain his confidence and remove his blindfold off his eyes. Finally, his eyes have been healed and his sight went back to normal. I knew 'Hero' already but I got into them with this song. That's why Shine Forever really holds a special place in my heart and I am still upset it didn't get the recognition it deserved. I kinda tried to let people know they existed by a fan page or something tho. But yea almost no one knew about them back then :/ Anyways I used to be sad too, because of the fact that I don't know them since their debut. But, who cares? Knowing them earlier does really not add value to your life or something, you just get to see the content earlier. The point is that you now enjoy their music and like them.

So, here's my theory. We saw a car flipping over and a few scenes later Minhyuk pulling the unconscious Kihyun out of the car, so I believe they had an accident and Minhyuk (!) left him behind in shock, I guess he didn't know what to do. I assume Hyungwon blindfolded Kihyun because it might be easier for him cope with himself being blind. As in Hyungwon saying ''You can't see because I blindfolded you, not because you're blind''. Then there was this scene where Wonho saw Minhyuk sitting in the car (I also think he realized that Minhyuk was the one who left Kihyun at the place where the incident took place) Jooheon asked him what's wrong because he looked like there was something on his mind, so he told Jooheon the truth and with that Jooheon got really angry, letting his frustration out by wanting to hit Minhyuk, but Shownu did that instead after he - Wonho - also told them the truth. So, in the end they left Kihyun sleeping alone so they could prepare the surprise for Kihyun, even though he can't see. Or Kihyun died in that accident (the blindfold symbolizes death) and Minhyuk can't get over it, so they try to get him to move over, punching him so he gets back to his senses. They're probably singing ''Shine Forever'' and decorating the floor with lights, reminding of Kihyun and that he'll shine forever! Correct me if I'm mistaken or you think otherwise! I personally think this MV is incredibly beautiful and our boys look very, very good (as always). So, instead of everyone saying that you want them to get their first win, vote. That's the only way to reach that goal. They deserved it after all this hard work! Monsta X, fighting! We love you.

I may be wrong but... How I interpret this MV/song: Seems like Minhyuk is the one at fault who got himself and Kihyun in a crash, causing Kihyun to lose his sight (damage to his eyes). And the others seem to be making him feel guilty. But despite Kihyun not being able to see, he'll still be able to shine. He's still alive. Still breathing. I think them finding the light sticks and laying them on the floor to help Kihyun "see" represents HOPE. Even though he can't see everything, he was still able to see the brightness at the end. The light. The hope. Even though the world may seem dark or it may seem like it's the end, there will always be that slither of light/hope. Especially when sticking together with your loved ones. Monsta X said this is a gift to their fans - Monbebes, let's continue to shine forever together with each other and with our boys!
