Her songs overall resonate really strongly with me and it's not just because i feel connection with Calli, she has a really great talent for lyrics, her rap is essentially modern poetry. I write some myself from time to time so i can really appreciate how talented someone must be to come up with all these allegories not to mention making them fit in the beat and rhyme. Even something as simple as "red turns black" which stands for the blood getting stale due to the passing of time, also hints at suffering or being wounded because the color change takes place outside of body. This is so ingenious, three words to describe something that would take me like 2 lines to express. She has a really amazing talent for music.

Ina - The Wheel of Fortune (Inversed) : Normally the card represents luck and good fortune, but since it's inversed it represents bad luck and disruption. Probably a reference to her lovecratian-based design Gura- The Fool: Usually means innocence, freedom, and most commonly means new beginnings. Gura is v sweet and probably the most childlike of the bunch so yeah it checks out. Also.... the fool hehe Kiara - The Sun: Usually means happiness, freedom, truth, openness, and uh, marriage. Kiara herself is very positive and also could be a bit more literal as in many myths it is believed that the sun dies every night and is reborn in the morning, similar to a phoenix. aaand not in the video but it's in the album: Calli herself - The Empress: Cause it's the title of her album special song or whatever, upright it can mean creativity, beauty, harmony and art, which works well with the overall album as well as Calli.

Thank you for explaining, I'm not into Tarot so I personally would have gone with just the title of the cards instead of the meaning. I was about to comment how I am confused Ina is not the high priestes since she in her lore is a literal priestess. I did some research on the cards and I agree that it fits Ame way more. Now that we are talking about the meaning of cards rather than just the titles I have found the meaning for a reversed wheel of fortune are, according to wikipedia: Increase, abundance, superfluity. I'm not equally deep into every hololiver but that doesn't really sound like Ina(s lore). On the contrast, the Magician kinda fits her lore perfectly. (All this info is from wikipedia): The magician counts as a conduit between the physical and spiritual world, perfectly being captured by her being a human in the physical world but still acting as a priestess for the Ancient Ones who are "spiritual" beings. The Marseille deck depicts the Magician with six fingers on one hand and this has been interpreted as a symbol or the ability to manipulate reality. Sounds like an ability the old ones would have and her having tentacles as a stand in for "more-than-regular-human" extremities would mirror that as well. Like, I don't want to come off as arrogant or ignorant to anyone, but I just had this surge of interest to research and I noticed this fits, in my opinion, more. .w.

I got this theory after watching calli's birthday stream: the song and mv talk about life on youtube and betting your life to be an entertainer. Calli mentioned the imagery of a young and beautiful rose growing old is connected to a person's entertainment career, and after replaying the song several times, the logo of youtube seems to fit the idea of a scythe being swung in a crimson night if you stretch the little white play button of youtube to be some kind of scythe. Red is Calli's favorite color so you can just look at the song as adding to her lore and Calli describing her overworking persona, but this reading the song as a metaphor for youtube could just add up to all the multiple meanings Calli has gotten ready for us in this wonderful song. "Tonight, the moon has rose in a crimson red But roses gotta wither, so I'll live forever instead. And now I can't get rid of these thorns in my head Bring on the hemorrhaging I guess I'll live inside your memory." The night presents Calli with an opportunity by giving her a crimson red rose. If she takes care of the rose normally, she could preserve its color briefly, but it will still eventually wither and fade away. In Calli's case, she received a job under hololive/youtube and if she did her job normally, it would still gain a following and look nice but its following would still have a time limit on it in terms of the upward growth of her channel. Calli decides that that's not enough and aims to do the impossible: to turn the fresh transient rose into unkillable stone with her own hands. The difficulty of the task could refer to the high standards Calli sets herself to for the sake of her channel and us deadbeats. Since the rose is in the process of turning into stone and never dying, its owner will also never have the chance for it to die and lose its thorns. My friend sent me this saying he doesn't like rap but likes her music and it's pretty obvious it's because of the reasons I described. I usually don't like "pure" raps too, not because I actually dislike them, but because they always feel like a missed opportunity to me. It's always "this could be so much better if it had X or Y styles mixed in", as the typical beats in "pure" rap feel a bit empty to me, kinda like those generic low effort pop songs that all feel the same, they're there just to fill the void and have no real meaning or emotion attached to them. This is how you can tell Calli is super talented. If you just look at the lyrics in a vacuum it doesn't look too distant from the edge culture of the mid-2000s, but the way Calli delivers it here, with an even mix of slow and fast paced vocals, and an overall vocal tone that isn't trying to be overly raspy or bitter, really helps the lyrics pop and tell a message so much better than they could in a vacuum. Plus, you know... it sounds freaking good. I can only imagine how many recordings it would take a regular person to nail the vocals. Stay unique, Calli! :D

I feel like this song is the pinnacle of Calli's work so far. Her songs were great a year ago but she's clearly refined her songwriting skills, honed them to a sharper edge than they've ever been before. But here's the thing, she's still young. What is her work going to be like in 10 years? 20? I want to be there for it. Now that I've listened to this for the 100th time, I want to point out something I don't see many people mentioning. While the song is undeniably what the kids refer to as a "banger", there's so much suspense and anxiety behind the lyrics. The whole point of this song is to emphasize how unsure the future is. She writes herself off as , to put it bluntly, a "fad". Because let's be real, a year ago, most of us didn't know what a vtuber was. 6 months ago, no one could have predicted how these girls were going to blow up and change our lives. What will the future hold? Let alone a single year? I think what makes Calli stand out and really earn our respect is that she is looking ever onward. Her ambition pushes her to do her absolute best in the here and now, to make both us and her happy, in hopes that no matter how good things seem today, they can still be better tomorrow. If you see this dad, just know that we feel the effort you put in, and no matter what the future holds I for one, and many of us deadbeats will always support you.

Yes, it could mean that and it does fit. However, I originally thought it meant that even though Mori has been a success since, debut!, she is basically an overworked slave to what she thinks and what she wants to accomplish. Further more, it is known that hololive only asks them to stream three times a week (public knowledge as it is on the application forum). But, when Mori first started, she said she wanted to stream eight times a week. (I don't know the stream that happened, only been a dead beat for three months, saw a clip, trying to catch up.) She has often said hololive is her job now when we dead beats try to tell her to take a break, get some rest and everything relating to her taking it easy for a minute. What I take from that statement, she will continuously put in 100% of her effort into this, which might fit the line, "nobody asked, but the mask fits alright." (When she said she had an open schedule in April and said she wasn't going to fill it by stream and take a break, I screamed with joy.) This song would be an amazing opening song of Calliope's story. It tells a tale of her chasing an everlasting, timeless and ambitious showmanship using the theme of red colours, objects and scenery with petals and crimson day. I love the way that you've combined singing, rapping and lots of rhyming with all of the sections of the song. The word play is impressive and the music is groovy, especially with the added sound effects that were added in the background. Yourself, Teniwoha and AO have done a phenomenal job with this track, expressing the theme of red. I love the hidden Yu-Gi-Oh reference. The quote from Yu-Gi-Oh is 'believe in the heart of the cards', however you transformed the quote into 'I'll bet my heart on the cards because I trust me the least'. Thank you for the hard work that you put into this birthday gift that you've given us. It's one hell of an amazing track.
