God I miss the sound of the normally aspirated Ferraris. Turbos are so dull

What are the differences between the gt3 and the gt2?
@vellymagagula64904 жыл бұрын
GT2 is the old relegated group name of what is now called GTLM in wec or GTE in imsa. GT3 is the top tier gt customer racing whilst the former is top tier gt factory racing. There're quite plenty technical differences but the main ones I guess are gte has more aerodynamic efficiency, higher downforce, no abs, different ecu mapping and somewhat different engine architecture to gt3 for very clever engine breaking since there's no abs, also slightly more hp than gt3 especially in imsa so as to separate the classes on race pace during races.

this is how ferraris should sound like. nowadays the cars just go softer and softer

I read the description & it only revs at 6250 rpm, how a 6250 rpm sounds like a screaming 9500+ rpm? I'm sure exhaust setup is not the only part you change to make that screaming sound.
@Belgian-Motorsport4 жыл бұрын
6250 is were it has the most power. It's not the rev limit.

@@Belgian-Motorsport oh I see then. But I'm just curious, 458 GT2 sound much sharper or louder than 458 GT3, almost like V8 Formula 1. How GT2 version produce better sound than GT3 version? Since GT2 revs lower than GT3 to achieve most power. I'm sure exhaust system is not the only thing.

@@pmbunmahafajarastanaprima5009 im a bit late here, but the GT2 uses a completely bespoke engine sharing almost no parts with the road car, while the GT3 engine is very heavily based on the engine in the road car.

@@maxreimann6734 its OK my friend. So, thats why they sound so different. Not only because they exhaust setup. This is why I am comparing GT2 to GT3 version.

458 GT2 has only 465 HP? Normal 458 has 570. Did I miss something?

Because racecars usually have a restrictor to limit the power and keep the competition fair.

Yes, it's called BoP balance of performance, this one's got lots of politics in it but hey sometimes it works i'n it

I hate the people who drive these 458 GT2s specifically. I don't know why the idiots are revving it so high when the powerband is at much lower RPM. You here them only going up to like 6000rpm in WEC and come here the idiots are upto 8000rpm thinking it might sound like some good stuff.

It's a different engine optimization in a different car dude... Don't think they are same... There's also any reason why they doing that... Bruh... Don't act like you don't know anything...

@@izzurumusic So the 458s that would race in WEC which were GT2/E as well are different than the 458s here?
@rofufoja4 жыл бұрын
@@chrischarizard4067 The championship this car was competing in was using bhp/kg limits per class. As far as I know the cars weren't restricted like the WEC cars. Possibly even using different engines. That made the championship attractive imo.
