:) Well. It was between some of the best in the world. I'd aim for smaller parts of the analysis to understand. Daniel goes over them quickly, I think because chess is that much more legible with that much experience. And even the key idea was hard to spot for the two GMs playing.

these are the kind of moves that blow my mind. When I was new to chess I was always blown away by all these guys finding tactics in seconds. I'm still not as good at that but I understand it. But the concept like getting the king to h5 by inducing a zugswaang with a rook and a knight is wayyy more than I could ever figure out in a game lol. Thats some serious understanding of the game

From a beginner, your explanation of Knight and rook end games, along with the battle over the h5 square explained so much and allowed me to make some sense of all those moves, before that I was pretty lost. There’s the extra info about kings on the sides against knights, I found this video even more instructive than usual. Thanks for another great vid

Awesome analysis! It’s a great learning experience even for a 1100-1200 like me. Even though the complications are way over my level, the ideas of winning position vs fortress, and making progress by inducing zugzwang are fascinating to me.

I checked c3 with Leela its her second best move after 1 sec as well as 2 H 30 m with -0.22 eval for the 3 pawn down white player so its definitely an interesting side line to Be2 since you almost have an initiative worth 3 point. Update Sf think at depth 61 the position is -0.01 so basically 2.99 point of initiative for 3 pawn in practice its incredibly hard for a human to defend such a huge initiative.

It's beautiful how the knight on g7 complements the pawn on f6 - together they seal off a vast array of squares from the White king (the only entry point left is e7).

Do you use the tablebases, Danya? I downloaded the 5-piece tablebase as part of a pet project to write a chess engine. But I'm wondering if GMs download it for their own analysis? (I'll probably have to edit this comment again after watching the whole video, I've only just started watching it!)

@@kappablanca5192 I know. But my chess bot will need them locally to be fast. Also, I've configured my Stockfish to use my local copy of the 5 piece tablebase. What do the top players use?
@AaronMcDaid

I guess my real question is as follows. There are three ways to access a tablebase: 1. Manually, by clicking on a website somewhere 2. by connecting your local Stockfish to a local copy of the tablebase 3. (Is this possible?) Connecting your local engine to an online tablebase What do the top players use?

What's tablebase?
@danielkagan3388
@danielkagan3388 3 жыл бұрын
A database of all positions with a certain number of pieces on the board and their evaluation (win, lose or draw). Right now we have 7-piece tablebases, so if there are 7 or fewer pieces (including kings and pawns), computers can play perfectly. The endgame in this game has only 6 pieces, so a tablebase can be used to find the exact evaluation of all positions.

When confronted by evil, the wisest and most secure adult will usually experience confusion. We literally feel overwhelmed by the labyrinthine mass of lies and twisted motives and distorted communication into which we will be drawn if we attempt to work with evil people. -Aren't the champions of chess, and what they reflect on the chessboard directly translate the symptoms? It is not like you play chess in such a state.(Here, a photo of an innocent, perfectly relaxed tiny blue bird, lightly looking arround while sitting on a tree branch.) The inherence of trembling and severe system-shocks this game introduces, while opening up number of secondary corridors trouh which sudden activity of your own strange agent figures appear, that you weren't even aware were employed. Having no chance of an idea about their motives. "You-must-leading-one."! -Is a medley from Tal's quote about the forest. The manifested sentence, due to its in-built vow for integrity could act like a strong contradiction to the vicious FRAGMENTATION, which chess inevitably hangs at the most private sensation of sefl precieving. The division, which (in the light of an opening sentence of this post) would directly lead to a landscape where evil relishes. “When one of us first plays chess, he is like a man who has already caught a dose of microbes...Such a man walks along the street, and he does not yet know that he is ill. He is healthy, he feels fine, but the microbes are doing their work.” - Mikhail Tal H.G. Wells additional conclusions, laying voluminous load on the game as well. Someone said: "But think about it. A lot of evil things aren’t entirely obvious at first." ... "I bet if chess is evil no one has found any clear evidence." The evidence must be strictly personal. -The clarity lost! Though, it can be assumed that those who has found it are not playing chess anymore. Further more, let us not pass by the momentous fact of a forced mates occurrence. While no matter how much your focus rest fixed on the inspiring offerings of beauty, anything that pushes so hard towards an extreme habit has to be at least alarming to the healthy flow. The thrust of habbitual bondage, as seen in the picture of adepts life (mirror) is of phenomenal proportion. The strong preassure on strategic effectiveness in chess, translating itself towards enchancing patterns, including: Concerns, fear, an impression of being delusional in case of re-occuring faliure. . Perhaps the most romantically-oriented, uplifting entanglement which somebody could rise up, holding within himself a good name for the game, the question: "Is chess evil? My opinion is no, because I love chess." So subtile. Perhaps far more validating above all other possible cheer-up's for the game.

If Fabi won his game vs Duda in Tata steel. He would probably have 2 of the greatest games played in 2021. Not a insane tactic (like Dubov Karjakin) but the level of opening prep into complex middlegame into winning endgame is just on another level.
