It's incredible to me how slim the margins of victory are at your level. One inaccurate move in a seemingly innocuous position, and the entire advantage evaporates.

My heart almost stopped when he said he wasn't sure if people were interested in the game. I was watching so close at the time and thinking it was a crazy position felt like he was about to stop explaining, and i had a miniature heart break haha. Such good explanation and such a cool win.

Yea this was one of the most interesting chess videos I’ve ever seen. Not often do we get such detailed analysis of such high level chess from one of the players in the game!

I remember watching this game live. After a couple tough rounds, Danya came back in this fashion. It's not often that someone would want to play for a win against Caruana, but as Maurice said, Danya was here to fight for wins with both colors.

I didn’t realize this video was 45 minutes until it was over. While yes I haven’t watched many breakdowns of big games against big players, this was such a thrill to watch and I would watch a thousand more of this caliber. Amazing to see such a great player explain their moves and what possibilities they had.

It would be awesome to see two opponents analyze their game this way. That way you'd get the reason for every move the opponent makes, what he thought his opponent would do vs what he actually planned for, etc.

very good analysis, really good, i never understood why in books people wrote till so many moves , i realised players can calculate such depth . Also i learned a lot about ruy lopez and positional play plus constant accesing of ideas. THANKYOU VERY MUCH .

Danya, please change the title to "How I Defeated Caruana At The US Championship". Personal titles get way more views, and part of what makes this video great is the fact that the player himself is analysing it.

Insanely enlightening content. 100% my favorite video type with Daniel explaining games that are played at the highest level if it's his own masterpiece like this or simply coverage of other super GMs it gets no better, IMO. Thanks, Daniel!

Hooray I was hoping that you might do a video on this game. You say sometimes in your videos that you are nothing special compared to some others in classical but here you are defeating world #2 in classical. I think this shows you are still in your prime in your chess game.

I’m a 500 elo player and even though this game is WAY beyond me I can still appreciate the beauty and intricacies of the game played here. Absolutely beautiful example of chess and it proves that chess IS an art form.

This game was a real gem. I also really liked your game against Kramnik. Hearing a GM annotate the feel and thinking process of the game he played is priceless. I've always thought that the great masters should author or at least coauthor their own collections of selected games.

I really love this analysis there are many misconceptions in chess openings where people just think an opening is bad but when the positions are hard to play for humans and engine depth gains shows a lot of innovative new ideas come up chess is a never ending journey

I'm 1200 and I felt like I could somewhat keep up with the reasonings. All the moves feel very natural and obvious when you describe them. Insanely good chess teacher!

Big respect to GM Naroditsky - you’re a natural teacher!! I wonder if you can increase the volume of your microphone? It’s quite quiet. Volume on my TV goes up to ~70 and then back down to ~35 when the ads come on so my ear drums don’t get blasted outta my skull. Don’t have this problem with other channels Appreciate you!!
