Been looking forward to this release! Looked like a touch more fade than I’d anticipated, but not bad. Really curious to see how the Fission Defy compares to a Fission Photon, or the Fission Time Lapse.

I must admit, it’s got a nice amount of fade. You can confidently put it on a anny line and not worry about it turning and burning. I imagine it will beat in a tiny bit more and be perfect. I can’t wait to test out the Defy too. It should be a crusher.

The defy I got to throw this weekend did not fly wildly like I thought it would being 146g.

@@lexas1234 I’ve got a few Waves too! The Conrad Proto Trail had a lower PLH / higher dome than my Plasma Wave. That one didn’t have the glide I wanted at the time. 160g Fission is better, but other discs go further with more consistent control. Still think the Trail ends up being a great add to their lineup!

The Defy’s are hit and miss. I have one and I LOVE it, but my Uncle has one and it flys completely different backhand and forehand then mine. Just a heads up, you’ll hate it or love it, but if u hate it, you just have a rando disc that has “defy” on it lol

Based on your comparison between the Trail and Mantra the Mantra would probably more likely to go straight for me. Thank you for the descriptions.

Sounds good. I will still bag the Mantra, but the Trail will fill the slot of a more stable Mantra that goes FAR.

I've been looking forward to the Defy in more plastics, especially fission. My beat in neutron Defy's are money so I can't wait to get my hands on these.

Can't wait to see the Fission Defy. I am also in love with the Mantra and I've had a hard time finding something between those and a Dynasty, I think I'm going to need to get a Trail after watching this. Thanks dude!

How would you compare this to the Construct since you've thrown both? Similar rim shape and/or flight? Could be interesting to do a comparison round with them.

More controllable than a Construct. Easier to get to turn but has a nice reliable fade at the end. Construct would be more stable except for the Aura Construct. Aura construct is basically a Mantra 😂.

How does the trail handle torque on a sidearm? Would love to see a sidearm throw or two incorporated into these first looks.

How does the Trail compare to the Construct? Feel you're describing a flight similar to the domey Aura run (some of the plague doctor stamp) You compared it to the mantra, yet to me, that run of Construct would be similar.

Trail is not as flippy as that Aura Construct run. But it’s not as stable as the other Constructs. Fits in a good slot right in the middle of those.

@@PartTimeDiscGolf Thanks! Sounds like the disc I wanted for that slot. Does it have a blunter nose than the Construct? I tend to find blunt nose (for the disc speed/stability class) allow better shot shaping (eg Relay, Zenith).

Aura Construct is the flippier out of the Constructs. It flies like a Mantra even in heavier weights. The other Constructs are much more stable. They don’t give you much flip at all. The Trail is in between. Give you a nice subtle turn (if you give it speed) and a nice finish to it. Not sure if this helps.

@@PartTimeDiscGolf that's definitely what I've noticed. My ethereal and Aura are closer to flight numbers. Nebula Aura is mega beef and I use it for forehands I wanna try and push a little further then my Omen. Might have to scoop one to see if it fills that spot I am actually kinda missing.

That’s not a bad comparison so sure. It can handle some torque and has a nice reliable fade. I would say the Crave isn’t as torque resistant as the Trail though.

A lot further and a nice subtle s turn to it. But the main thing is it just goes much further than the Trance. Easy distance.

A 10 speed Detour? I could get behind that. The only difference would be the Trail has a stronger finish at the end because it’s a higher speed disc, but yeah…I like that comparison.

I own a few waves and love them. Except for it being a signature series for James, I don't see there being a difference between the two.

It has the easy distance of a wave, but definitely more subtle turn and fade. When I throw a wave it turns more and fades more than this Trail. Not sure if that helps at all, but yes there is some crossover with these two discs.

Average? Mid 50s. For max distance it’s low 60s.
