I don’t think Yuri lived. I think this cut ending is showing that everyone who knows the truth about Shepard and the cause of ww3 is dead. When people pass away, they see people that have also passed away before them. I’m guessing that Price was thinking about where it all started just as he fades. If that was the original premise of ghosts, that might have made more sense than the new dog model. Always felt weird how they made a game that should’ve taken place after mw3 but just never did. They ran out of ideas and passion for modern games, and wanted to cut it off before it got bad, and I can’t blame them.

The guy at the ending could be Zakhaev. If we recall Makarov and Price's Conversation at the boneyard, Makarov told Price "I'll see you in hell." then Price replied with "Give my regards to Zakhaev when you get there first." Maybe this is an homage to that conversation to when they both died, they'd see each other in hell. And here we have Price seeing Zakhaev symbolizing his death.

The way I took it was that he was incarcerated since you could hear sirens in the background just before the credits roll. EDIT: Further looking at this, I just realized this deleted scene does not have sirens in it which might further suggest he is alive in the final ending which does have them.

I can interpret this in two ways. In short, one of them was that this was setting up for another sequel. Here we could be shown what was going to be a new antagonist pulling the strings and witnessing the death of one of the last TF-141 members. The other being was that this was to mark the end of the legendary Captain Price, and the mysterious man was a personification of death, and the darkness that consumes Price as he dies shows he is going to hell. The long version of this, I'll start with the personification of death. Anyone remember all the war crimes Price has committed? (Torturing Al-Asad to find out who nuked the marines before outright executing him, launching nukes into space to help the Americans despite it coming at a cost of lives being lost on both sides, killing Waraabe after he tells him that Volk was in Paris.) And those lines of dialogue between Price and Makarov on the mission "The Enemy of My Enemy" from MW2? In the dialogue, Price speaks to Makarov about the whereabouts of Shepherd, in which Makarov carelessly gives up, "Shepherd is using Site Hotel Bravo. You know where it is. I'll see you in hell." Price responds to that last part with, "Looking forward to it. Give my regards to Zakheav if you get there first." It sounds as though Price is aware of the things he did and is accepting that he would go to hell for them. The darkness that consumes Price not only indicates he is passing, but could also mean he is going to hell, since we have seen Sgt. Jackson die in active war, and he sees white as he passes, indicating he's going to heaven since he never took part in any crimes. Even more symbolic, Roach, a member of TF-141, not only sees black, but the last thing he sees is him going up in flames. This one could be a stretch though, as we saw white through Pvt. Allen's eyes, too, in the mission "No Russian" after massacring civilians through espionage, unless, if it is intentional, it could just be an oversight. But this next interpretation, though, is the one I lean more on. The other interpretation I have for this is that this was setting up for a sequel, possibly MW4, and who we saw was possibly a new antagonist who was pulling the strings. I believe it was possible Ghosts was going to be MW4 until very early on, when they changed it. One thing to prove this is that only one character from the MW trilogy came back in the Ghosts campaign, which is Overlord, and he only had one voice line in the entire campaign. Another thing I think proves this more is that it could sort of relate to Infinity Ward working with Neversoft (prior to merging with Infinity Ward). During the development of MW3, Neversoft was brewing their own CoD code named "NX1" which ran on MW2's IW4 Engine. NX1 had many elements that we have seen incorporated into both CoD Ghosts and Infinite Warfare, such as the space missions. NX1 was developed by the Neversoft team to build up familiarity with the IW Engine, since they were more familiar with developing the Tony Hawk and Guitar Hero games. I think Infinity Ward took on the opportunity to work with them to steer CoD in a new direction, creating an entirely new game out of their work, so what we got instead of a modern era CoD was a semi-futuristic CoD almost similar to BO2. This ending, I believe, was the teaser to the "prototype" version of Ghosts, where the game was still going to be Modern Warfare. Who we saw could perhaps be Rorke or somebody else entirely they planned. I'm not sure. But the build of NX1 that was shown off was dated a month after MW3's release. I wouldn't say the ending was cut completely because of NX1, but also because the ending (at least to me) feels a little less like MW. To me, it gives off Black Ops or Ghosts vibes, and Ghosts had a similar "bad"/twist ending too. As Ghosts was made by the same people behind MW (or MW3, since lots of devs left IW before MW3), this kind of ending was probably on their minds for a while. Ghosts, having that ending after the credits, was again seemingly building up to a sequel. While not cut, yet again, we never got it, and we had Infinite Warfare instead. Anyway, these are my thoughts. I cannot confirm whether these are the exact cases, but I felt it was interesting to talk about them nonetheless. Honestly, seeing this feels so unreal after beating this game for the first time almost 13 years ago now. It feels like a fever dream. The ending we got in final release was what defined the game for me for the past decade of replaying it again and again. Awesome that things are being discovered for this game in the recent years since it always feels like the first two games got the most attention. This game has since then always been my favorite CoD game.

Ive heard from some people ghosts was originally supposed to be a Modern warfare game. If this theory was supposedly true.This would mean that if the cut ending was true, the ominous man at the end would probably either be the villain for the next game. Given that allegedly Ghosts was supposed to be A MW game we can suspect it to be Rorke (TO an extent). Another theory that could sort of make sense given that the asset used for the ominous man seems to be from the "Turbulence" mission. This could potentially mean that the ominous man is infact a FSO officer who was likely surveiling the entire mission,"Dust to dust", and only walked to the room only to confirm that Makarov is actually dead.

I wanna say something. The founder of this stuff, say that`s the "stranger" uses the default model for russia president security from mission "Turbulance" if i not mistaken. so... I think it have several ways: 1) This "stranger" is not something specific, for example someone who needs to kill Makarov too, so, he checked it, he walked away. 2) Due to it`s default model maybe it was planned to change the model for cliffhanger MW4, but it was cancelled. 3) Blood loss hallucination, maybe the Zakhaev, before the Chernobyl event with 2 arms, but i think it`s crap. Generally `cause of default model all of thinking about specific personality is nonsense, so it`s only speculating like "who it might be" I think it cancelled of 2 possible reasons: 1) Cancelled MW4 2) Not to give a cliffhanger, not to do a open final But it will have really more sense if in basic game we can see the Price death. I don't get it. Why are all people writing about if Price died? What exactly would he die from in that scene? The mysterious guy just stood there, looked at him from afar and walked away. No one shot Price or did anything to him there. Why would he die?

Price literally just fell off a crashed helicopter and a glass roof. Pluss so much blood loss during it. You can see his fatigue after the helicopter crashes. If you play the level you can see how much damage he sustains. It's almost absurd how he even survives

@@Hamentsios10 Makarov was spitting blood after the helicopter crash too. Coming from that, you can potentially assume that he was gonna die anyway. So there was no need to finish him off with cable choke and all that epic stuff, lol. But really, that doesn't seem like true. Also, at the end of COD4 MW, it seems like Price died too, when he was lying unconscious on that bridge, while Soas was taking away. And he probably received some bad injuries there as well. But nope, he survived and appeared in MW2 just fine. So at the end of the day, I think all these speculations about whether Price died or not are pointless, cause ONE: if the devs really wanted him to die, they would've made it clear. And TWO: it's the last game in the sub-series anyway. Whatever plans they had for MW4 were aborted anyway. So... whatever. Died or not died. It doesn't matter.

@@king__iopa6841 Finishing off Makarov was an obvious revenge plot climax between them. Price absolutely hated Makarov. The war had ended. In that logic, there would be no reason to kill Makarov. But Price wanted revenge to finish him off out of hatred. Price didn't care of Makarov was going to die after the crash. He wanted to kill him himself. As horrible as a story that is it's pretty obvious what the point of the scene is. The bonus ending where Price passes out, can be arbitrary but given its the ending of the trilogy it's pretty safe to assume they actually wanted Price to die.

You said that Price can possibly die from the injuries he received while trying to kill Makarov, so I just pointed out that Makarov had the same injuries after the crash (spitting blood), but he was unlikely to die from it. He didn't seem like someone who's about to die, anyway. So therefore, Price wasn't really gonna die from either. As a said, if they really wanted Price to die, they probably would've made it more clear and would legitimately kill him off, like all the other characters. But as it is, it seems like "Price's death" is just a passing thought that people kinda needlessly exaggurated into a conspiracy. But, I mean, if that's what the devs intended to throw out there, then they succeeded, lol. But I can only say what I already said. Died or didn't die. What does it matter? There's no continuation of the story after that. So really, Price's death is just up to each one's interpretation and imagination forward on, which is fine. But people seem to want a clear and certain answer about whether he died or not. They want to know the exact intended canon behind that, which is what I think is pointless. There's obviously no particular answer to that inserted by the devs. There, I hope my train of thoughts and my point is explained good enough.

The original ending, despite him still having some blood loss, suggests he's likely alive since what we have for clues are the sirens that can be heard in the background indicating he probably got arrested. Note that the cut ending doesn't have these sirens.

@@SretenLukic-or8cy rooftops 2 wrapped up the story in a very solid and complete way I don't want to ruin that ending with another sequel and I don't want to work on another project on the magnitude of rooftops campaigns. It is extremely demanding and I'd rather work another project or at least spec ops remastered.

Many modders have known about that cut code in the level that features a shadowman but we never saw it realized. A friend modder recently just decided to restore the code and add it to the game to realize the scene and there we have it. It's the cut ending the devs of the game left out of the game. It's no a joke not a custom made thing.
