MW3 was my CoD. Loved the MSR, G36C, and especially the Model 1887. 1v1 mode was a blast. Unfortunately, I got deranked not one but TWO times. I remember the second time was from me fighting this really sweaty modder on 1v1, and the timer was about to run out and I finally got the lead, so I said "Nah" and repeatedly suicided with C4 so he couldn't kill me, like I've seen other tryhards do. This of course made him butthurt and I returned to the lobby level 1, prestige 0. That was kinda it for me. I probably would be at least prestige 30 something if I hadn't gotten deranked. Oh well. It was fun while it lasted. Modders ruin every game. Not much fun anymore when a triggered modder can wipe your progress in the blink of an eye. Is MW2 2 any good?

Fully automatic fire is almost only used in suppressing fire situations, I.E. using a belt fed weapon to put rounds over the target's head, so they take cover and your people can move into position. Single shot with the M4 and three-burst with the M16 is more commonly used to actually take targets out; full auto fire depletes mags and decreases accuracy massively.

Once I got used to this weapon, I started to really like it. It has its place. I run:- attachments, silencer, extended mags. And then marksman, which makes up for the slightly poor visibility of the iron sights.

This video does a nice job dissecting this gun. I use the MK14 100% of the time on MW3 and have a K/D of 1.88 at the moment. I use 2 attachments, silencer and red dot, with blind eye, assassin, and stalker, and I usually own with this weapon. Even though the rifle is slower than many others, with practice it's lethal. Often I still out-aim and out-shoot kids with P90s with quickdraw. It's more about individual skill than the gun stats.

Correction, Drift0r. The Mark-14 is actually a battle rifle, not an assault rifle. Its semi automatic firing of the 7.62x51mm classifies it as a battle rifle.

With this gun, I actually recommend you use SoH Pro, (red up to you), and marksman. I put on a thermal to practically make it 2 shot at any range and marksman to see people from long range (also helps bc of hold breath with thermal). Next put some akimbo skorps on ur hip (for close range encounters)... From here the trick is to play moderately passive. The last step is to simply watch your accolades as you stock up on Immortals :)

Red dot sight + Rapid Fire +Hardcore Domination = my fondest memories of the multiplayer. It was so satisfying to double tap someone in their body and a single head shot.

After doing a lot of testing with this weapon I've found that the combo that works best for me with MK14 is: Focus+Red-dot and Scavenger+Quickdraw+Stalker.

After using this gun for so long, i finally got it gold! I recommend everyone tries this gun with extended mags, and a silencer. For perks, use blind eye, assassin pro, and MARKSMAN! Marksman is the kew to kills with this gun. Use the specialist package with perks sleight of hand, quickdraw and stalker. Drift0r, i really recommend you try this set up!

While the .308 Winchester and 7.62x51mm are indeed similar they aren't 100% the same. That being said there are multiple statements saying firing either in a gun makes no real difference...some people say it does. But in that instance you are right they are, more or less the same. Also you are right about it being select fire, fully auto. It was designed as a Close Quarters Weapon and Designated Marksmen rifle. Meaning that only single fire would render it somewhat useless in a CQB situation

They may appear to be similar but they are distinct weapons. The MSR is Remington and the Intervention is made by Cheyenne Tactical. Both are fine rifles though.

Some do, yes. Battle rifle can also refer to a designated marksman's rifle, which is single fire. My decommissioned U.S M14, for example, would be a designated marksman's rifle, although at the time it was referred to as the M14 standard infantry rifle. Something like the Hecker and Koch G3, however, would be exactly what you are describing, and is also used as a battle rifle/designated marksman's rifle. The term battle rifle is a bit vague, but hey, it wasn't me that named it :D

Just a piece of advice for everyone who loves to use the MK 14, if you like quick fast stealth kills use the 2 Attachments proficiency with silencer and rapid fire. These along with Assassin make you a complete stealth monster on any map.

I in fact have noticed that it is a video game. Ive also noticed that for you, learning about real life weapon systems seems to be an irritant, so heres some more real life information for you. The correct designation for the rifle is the MK14Mod0 (Mark 14 Model #0), it is a gas piston operated weapon firing the 7.62x51 NATO (308) round at 2800 fps with a maximum range of 1000 yards and a maximum effective range of 800 yards fired from the Mk14.

I recomend focus, red dot, quick draw and stalker. If you are killing people with 2 shots then the recoil wont really matter for this gun, where as if you get stuck being shot this gun has amazingly high recoil when it hit so focus is the go, quick draw because of the shit hipfire, and stalker because of what @Drift0r said. But marksman works really well on this gun aswell, since it has a good range on it

I use to use this as a semi-support/sniper weapon. I'd throw a scope on it with stalker and a silencer. Then run around with akimbo FMG9's. If I had to hold a position, I'd find a good sniper spot and just take it over for a minute. It usually worked. I'd sometimes change it up to the silencer and red dot if I wanted to take things slow but keep it mid-range in gun fights.

A battle rifle is often used by a platoon's designated marksman. The term battle rifle is a bit vague, as the standard U.S military term is Designated Marksman's Rifle. Battle rifles fire a large round, usually 7.62x51, the NATO standard.

This is my favorite gun by far. I am an average player who normally struggles to get a positive KD in matches and typically only gets high streaks with the FN P90, MP7A1 and AK-47. My third or fourth match with this gun I went 50-13 (yes some of the kills were by attack choppers and the AH-6 but that's high for me) on dome. And dome is a small map for what is typically thought of as a longer ranged gun. I nearly always go positive with it. I think the reason I personally am so good with it is because my aim is all over the place with automatics but I rarely shoot more than four bullets to drop someone with this. I'm also a bit of a defensive and flanking player so this gun works well for that. I typically use RDS and kick but in hardcore I use thermal and stability. With thermal and stability in hardcore, it is basically a Barrett with minimal recoil and a 20 round mag.

The M14 was originally fully automatic, but recoil made the thing so inaccurate it had to be reduced to semi-automatic, which is the fire rate it is at today. The M4A1 has full auto and semi auto selection, giving troops flexability in the field in a small, accurate, controlable package.

MK-14 was the same weird quirk as the FAL in MW2 with the silencer. It is likely a glitch in the game engine with semi-autos and silencers. You are not imagine lag or anything, the silencer really does reduce fire rate on the MK-14. If it really bugs you use rapid fire with silencer. It negates the bug and the anomaly disappears.

the military currently does not use automatic m14's. the original m14's used in vietnam were in fact capable of select fire, but modern m14's are only capable of semi automatic fire.

I never use the suppressor on this. The raw power that is associated with this weapon is amazing. Ik the range is great so the suppressor would be a good choice but i love the hard sounding bang of the MK.

i use to hate this gun but i started using it with attachments red dot and silencer the red dot makes this gun so much more accurate and easier to shoot and the silencer is good because it doesnt make the gun recoil rise as bad but when these two are put on it , its one of my top guns super deadly

I dont know if someone has already mentioned this or not, if they have, then just ignore this comment, but the MK14 is not an assault rifle. It is a battle rifle. The reason its innaccurate on full auto and hip firing is because in real life, it sucks in full auto firing. You're firing a .30 caliber round that has a lot of weight to it and therefore it will make the recoil a lot stronger and harder than the M4s 5.56 round. Also, the "MK" of the MK14 is pronounced "Mark", not "M, K".

Drift, for 'aggressive play' SoH isn't necessary. neither is kick. as you said, the recoil is predictable. double attachment: rapid fire and dot sight. i've done really well with this weapon on maps such as village and dome. quick draw is what makes this weapon.

The Shotgun attachment do not increase the recoil. It only increases the visual recoil, but that does indeed make it hard to hit people.

These are different designations for what is essentially the same weapon. The M14, the M21, the M25, M1A, the MK14 all use the same receiver and fire the same cartridge.

Two shots with suppressor at medium range should kill anything that is stationary. But the trick is to time the shots right. One. Two.A shot to the head kills anything, even with suppressor. It is good in huge maps full of snipers like Interchange or Liberation where you can sneak up on people and play commando on them. I use it with Stealth, Ninja and sleight of hand. Also attachments ACOG and Suppressor. Recoil is nearly non existent with a suppressor.

Thank you this is by far my favorite weapon in this game. Personally if you have a near mod finger like what i had back then is used rapid fire and a sight. I recommend a sight because the faster you shoot the worse the recoil for this gun is and i found a holographic sight to reduce the recoil. I also use scavenger cause i have been used to reload canceling everything and this is a preety low ammo gun. If you dont have a hair trigger use the classes he said or even a impact profecency. Thx

Yeah, the Russian assault Kalashnikovs almost all fire the 39mm cartridge. When it was first designed, they were considering a higher power round, but then settled for the 39mm, which is more than sufficient :)

I went to one of most critically acclaimed schools in the country (not saying the name for security reasons - feel free to disbelieve me if you want) and it was simple to get A's or advanced classes. You just had to try a little harder. It took no extra cognitive strength. Your honors classes are impressive for now, but soon school will actually be hard.

This is the only gun I use and I disagree with the hip fire accuracy claims. I constantly find that when I'm in a bind and have to go spray crazy, I end up getting an accidental head shot 8/10. Also I feel the 3 hit range is not even worth mentioning, This gun as always a two hit kill, at center mass.

you are both wrong. The M14 is a fully automatic battle rifle that fires the 7.62x51mm Nato round. Most have been deactivated from full auto it was however selective fire. The M1A is a semi auto civilian model that fire .308 win

I'm only 13, but when I use this gun I always get an AC 130. I use the Hybrid Sight, because of the 4x zoom, or a regular Holographic Sight. I also use a silencer. My perk set up is Scavenger, Hardline, and Marksman. I'll use the Predator Missile, Attack Chopper, and AC 130. Grammar is a beautiful thing.

i still like the m21 ebr from mw2 better:) yes they are pretty much the same weapon but the m21 had over 900 RPM, no drop off, higher damage at range plus i could use acog/sleight of hand/ lightweight to have a fast super strong battle/sniper rifles hybrid. the only thing the MARK 14 has over the m21 ebr is it has lower recoil(barely lower to me) so if both were in MP I'd pick the m21 ebr every time especially since i could use kick on the m21 and get all perks using specialist strike package:)!

if you saw tmartn's vid you would know that puttin kick on the mk14 makes no difference in recoil! use the silencer with focus so that when you're in close range engagements and you're gettin shot at, you wont miss that crucial last bullet to kill
