I played on stage with Bill Kirchen in 2017. I told him that when I seven years old (1976), my babysitter bought over the Ronco record "In Concert" and it had "Hotrod Lincoln" on it. He laughed. What a great dude.

I saw The Old Commander And His Lost Planet Airmen at an outdoor venue near Logan Ohio. After their set I bought the Old Commander and a few of the boys a beer and shot the shit for a bit while John Kay and Steppinwolf took to the stage. This was in the late 80’s or early 90’s. The second time was in Parkersburg, WV 😮late 90’s they played at a local bar. Once again I was able to convince The Old Commander and the boy to join me in a little nightcap provided by Jose Cuervo and o got my Live at the Armadillo LP signed by all. I still get a little sentimental when I think about these times and what made them so memorable. Good times!

Saw this lineup at the Memorial Auditorium in Sacramento, they opened for New Riders. They were encored so many times as the opening act that NRPS looked shell shocked when they finally took the stage. Seriously, how do you follow a band that literally set stages ablaze with their good time musicianship? NOBODY was doing it like these guys!

I saw Commander Cody with Dan Hicks and the Hot Licks and Hot Tuna in the Bay Area on New Years Eve in 1970. This was the HIGH lite of the show. Later the Hot Tuna crowd showed up with some really special ladies nude and one fully dressed Catholic Bishop.
