there are two levels of difficulty for working on cars: one for sunny dry areas (easy mode) and one for areas with winter/salted roads (hard mode)

mm,I gotta say, the best thing about working on a Miata is - 8mm 10mm 12mm 14mm and 16mm I have yet to need anything other than those for every project. Most often its 10mm-14mm

You and I both need some power tools to work on our cars. I also am a socket/wrench guy.. and honestly, it sucks. I just don't have the money for power tools.
@MiataMods2 жыл бұрын
I do have some power tools but I try to use them as less as possible so my viewers can see you how you can do these things with just basic hand tools

Awesome video! Great that you are back. I have already done a few repairs with the help of your instructions and it has always worked great (apart from rusty screws :D). Which rims are currently mounted on your Miata? They look great!
@MiataMods3 жыл бұрын
Thanks! They are Japan Racing 11's, size is 15x8 et25 with 195/50 tires. They are similar to the XXR rims.

I do not recommend to anyone (to ppl which know that they have a rusty car, potentially driven in the winter) to change the endlinks on themselfes. When u dont have to, i would change the whole sway bar especially the front one (and maybe the rear too but the bolts are more accessible and doable there) . Believe me guys i had an 2002 NB which was driven at least 5 winters and it had (especially on the front end links!) on the bottoms screw where you cant reach good enough to unscrew it with normal tools. THEN u have to have to go to a mechanic and let him fix it, but thats i think not the purpose. I hope i could help anyone..
@MiataMods3 жыл бұрын
Hey Serdar, I get what you're saying. That's why I focused so much on explaining how you can loosen the bolts properly because in my country we have cold (salty) winters as well. If people want to spend that kind of money then yes, upgrading the complete sway bar would be a better idea!
@nolahahnshouse33893 жыл бұрын
I have eibach front and rear sway bars and I planned on getting some adjustable links But I just never got around to it but I do plan on getting some soon!

Good one. Hope you didn't forget to remove the box spanner from the nearside sway bar 😁. This one's being stored away for future reference as it will inevitably need doing on mine at some time. I wish I had a lift though. Having said that, if the access is OK, being a lazy git I would probably go for the angle grinder and new bolts approach. Would there be any point on putting in stainless steel hardware? Of will they just rust longterm anyway?
@MiataMods3 жыл бұрын
Don’t quote me on this but I was wondering the same when I was swapping my exhaust (on my other car) so I did some research and found that stainless steel bolts/nuts will corrode/fuse with the surrounding steel so no, it’s not a good idea to use stainless steel hardware underneath the car. Ow and I did not forgot the wrench haha
@davidchandler88813 жыл бұрын
Great video, but I'm not sure why you didn't try wire brushing the rusted ends of the bolts first and then oil them in order to make the undoing easier. Or did I miss that.

While addressing my clutch hydraulics early this year, I discovered my front sway bar was disconnected on one side. But the end link wasn’t broken, it simply let loose from the lower A arm, quite strange.
