MXL 990 modded with RK-47 capsule is a great budget mic

ok so the price of the rk-47 capsule must have gone up quite a bit since I did the mod like 10 years ago. (I probably wouldn't have done the mod had it cost $170, since I was on a tight budget.) but that said and having done the mod, it's definitely worth that price considering the sound you get. it totally transforms the microphone, way better than a $250 mic.
