MxPx haben in diesem Jahr nicht nur ihr neuntes Studioalbum "Plans Within Plans" herausgebracht, sondern auch gleich noch 20-jähriges Bandbestehen zu feiern. Denn 1992 fand man sich in Bremerton, Washington zusammen, um es den großen Helden von NOFX oder Black Flag gleich zu tun. Das haben MxPx geschafft - anders lässt sich ihre große (und stetig wachsende) Fangemeinde doch auch gar nicht erklären. Und mal ehrlich: die Jungs sind gut!
Vor kurzem spielte das Trio im Kölner Blues Shell auf und da ließ es sich Sänger Mike Herrera nicht nehmen, zwei Lieder für Cardinal Sessions zum Besten zu geben. Quasi Punkrock auf die stille Tour. Wir finden, dass "For Always" und "Aces Up" sich auch so sehr schön anhören und ansehen lassen.
Not only have MxPx released their 9th regular studio album this year - they also will be celebrating their 20th birthday. Yay! It was in 1992 that they met in Bremerton, Washington, to make music like the style their heroes from NOFX or Black Flag did. And MxPx succeeded quite well - how else would you explain their (stil growing) big fanbase? And to be honest: these guys are freaking good at what they do!
Not so long ago, the trio played at the Blue Shell in Cologne and singer Mike Herrera took his time to play "For Always" and "Aces Up" exclusively acoustic for Cardinal Sessions. Virtually punk rock in its quieter sense.
