Welcome back to MBOX Frustrated User Guide. Ever wonder why the startup clock on your MXQ MBOX is always wrong? It has to show the correct time in order to stream! Finally a real SOLUTION!!! Regardless what version of Netflix I install it does not work after powering off my MXQ. I noticed that the system time is not correct every after powering off and I had to adjust this everytime so that Netflix (and maybe all streaming apps) will work. THANKS A LOT Lawrence Pena!!!

Properly configured, Clocksync will auto launch on powerup, go out on the Internet, and synchronize the MBOX system clock to an atomic time server in your part of the world. Regional server locations are chosen from a chart given in the video. Clocksync can also be configured to auto resync periodically, at an interval set by you, while the box is ON. Configure that, and as long as your Internet connection is maintained, the two clocks will never be more than a few milliseconds apart. Full directions are in the video.

I have several problems like this, the problem is the isp router too, it has ntp provided there but as user can´t touch it, put another router and problem solved .. Clocksync never works on my case not show as your UI on a tvbox almost no menu or options.

Yes, the ClockSync interface does vary from Android version to Android version. And, it's great that you solved your problem with a new router. But why didn't the old router work? All I can think of is that your MBOX is set to get network time from whatever router it's connected to and your old router was manually set to incorrect time. Perhaps its time zone setting was incorrect. Did you try manually setting the time on the old router? Did you try different firmware? I had to overwrite the most recent firmware update on my Netgear R6050-AC750 with a much older version, because the new firmware deleted the router's timer functions! The so-called firmware update also lowered WiFi power making connected devices run much slower. So, your old router might have a firmware issue. Just wondering if you tried any of these things? In any event, ClockSync should have worked (assuming your version of Android allowed you to configure it) because ClockSync ignores the router's time, ignores the ISP's time and syncs directly with an NTP server. @@LawrencePina Fist thanks for the answer, Maybe it's asleep, but ClockSync hasn't worked in any way. I restarted about 30 times, leaving it off and letting everything discharge (capacitors), and it still starts in 1969. The router is from the ISP and is obviously locked, as we all know. If you call them, they'll say it's not their fault and that nothing can be changed on the router for security reasons-typical ISP excuses. It's strange because I've never touched the NTP settings on a router before. I've seen it, but I never paid attention to it on the hundreds I've configured for my clients. But in this case, something seems to be happening. What's funny is that if I ping the NTP servers, they're not blocked. But at least this generic Chinese TV box is giving me a headache. I've seen crazy things with them; the Chinese don't respect anything. I work with TV boxes daily-some have misleading RAM and specs, and with others, the manufacturer ceased to exist years ago, yet suddenly, my clients call me saying new notifications appeared. When I check the devices, they've reconnected to some server in China and updated, adding 15 tons of bloatware with useless APKs like FindMyPet and others. When I plugged in an old router I had at home without touching any settings-a basic and old TP-Link-the problem was fixed. What I don't understand is why in this version of Android OS 10.1, ClockSync doesn't work and the menu looks different. I don't have the buttons to configure it.

@@LawrencePina Solved, was the Huawei router and the ISP refusing to change the sntp on the router, i explain the problem and then de guy says, i try, test it in a few minutes, and boom works..

T9 tv box can not provide date and time after power on /off. I run the device setting date and time after power on /off. Very disappointed device. It take date and time mobile hotspot but not take Wi-Fi router. Please help.

It's interesting that time is synchronized when connected to a mobile hot spot on your T9 but not when connected to a network router. I'm thinking that's a router problem. Does a port need to be opened? Have you tried resetting the router to factory defaults? Does it need a firmware update? If none of those things work, I'm sure the ClockSync app will. Another thought - I see T9 TV boxes offered with Android 8, Android 9, and Android 10. Does yours have Android 10? Maybe that's the answer. Hello, the tutorial was extremely helpful. Question about the “ClockSync”, it’s only qpplicable for root devices only as prompted. Do you know where can I root my mxq pro 5g 4k?

I only own two rootless devices (one with Android 5 and one with Android 12) and the clocks in both of them work perfectly, so I've never needed to root a device for use with ClockSync. But, I can confirm that the developer of ClockSync built a readme into the app that address this problem at length. How to get to the readme, once the app is installed, varies depending upon the version of Android on the box. When the app is run for the first time, refer to the "ClockSync FAQ" and "Root Notes" links in the window titled "What's new" that initially pops up. Once the app is installed, click on the menu icon (the three dots) or the word "More" in the upper right corner of the screen, choose Settings, and scroll all the way to the bottom of the menu list. But, with Android 12, there is no menu icon or word "More" at the upper right corner of the screen. So, in that case you may have to reinstall the app and start over. I guess it's also worth mentioning that the appearance of the app is quite different on newer versions of Android and that there is a rootless mode which worked perfectly (even though I didn't need it) on both of my rootless devices. There is no way to change the NTP server on my HG 96 Max V12 (android 12) android box after I installed the Clocksync app. Its screen shows wrong clock and date still. Still shows error "cannot connect to NTP server, please see clocksycn FAQs". The problem just started few days ago. I bought it last February 2023. No recent new apps were installed on the android box. It is connected via ethernet. But it will not connect on wifi even if password is correct. It will connect to internet if I manually set the time and date. But after restarting the device, same issue

No TV box I've ever owned (and I've bought plenty) has had a clock that keeps local time when the box is turned off. Instead, startup routines built into firmware fetch network time from the access point, repeater, or router directly above the TV box and set local time accordingly. Apps rely on local time. If local time is wrong, because the startup routines simply don't work (MXQ with Android 4.4.2), apps can't stream. That's when ClockSync can help. But I don't think startup routines suddenly not working is the problem in your case. I've owned two H96 Max boxes (newest is an H96 Max V56, 8K, Ultra HD, with Android 12) and despite their many faults, neither H96 Max TV box has had clock problems. So, what just happened to your H96 max V12? Both the startup routines in firmware and the ClockSync app rely on network time. If network time is wrong, or if the network device directly above the TV box refuses time sync requests, startup routines set the local clock to the wrong time, or fail to set it at all. The routines are working. They did their job. But local time is still wrong. In such cases ClockSync can't work either because it needs reasonably correct network time to connect to an ntp time server. Since it can't connect to an ntp server on your H96 max V12, I'm suspecting a network time problem. To see if that's the case, try connecting to a different network. Set up a hotspot on your phone and try that. If setting up a hotspot is not an option, try bringing your TV box to a friend's house. If the box suddenly reports correct time when connected elsewhere then you'll know for certain that you have network time (most likely router) problem, not a local time (TV box) problem and we can proceed to solve it accordingly. Either the MBOX is not connected to the Internet, or you failed to enter an NTP server, or the NTP server you did enter went down. Verify that the box does have an Internet connection and rewatch the video starting from 6:35. Server charts appear around 6:59.

hello. i have a mecool km6 deluxe device i have facing a serious problem . when i boot the device on , device date and time automatic goes to old date. i have tried network and manual settings but it Doesn’t work. then i factory reset the device. still it doesn’t work ?. every time i had to manually setting date and time. if i doesn’t set the time correctly then my internet doesn’t work anymore untill i set it correctly. thank u. i hope u give me a real fast solution

I have had problems on and off with the clock showing the default start up time and not updating to the actua netowork time even after switched on for a very long time, it has been working for months at least and now suddenly in the last days i had a lot of trouble with it and have had to completely cut power to the box and restart and hope it solves it, it has been the only way to get it to work. Mine is a MXQ quickplay that i got in 2016, basically the 4K model but with bluetooth. I might have to try that app if the problem continues, at the moment its working again though.

Clocksync is an Android app. If your TV runs Android OS, and if the firmware allows you to install apps from unknown sources, then the answer is yes. The problem is, very few Smart TVs run Android OS. Most LG TVs use webOS. Most Samsung TVs use Tizen OS. Neither allows you to install apps from unknown sources. Nor do Roku TVs. On those TVs, if an app is not in the company store, you can't install it. So, the answer to your question depends on whether or not you have an Android TV. Good luck! Thanks for commenting.

Two reasons yout MBOX not be able to connect to an NTP server: 1. Since you don't say which main and backup NPT servers you can't connect to, it occurs to me that you might not have entered any. The world is a big place. You have to choose at least two regional NPT servers from the list given in the video. It's highly unlikely both would be offline at the same time. 2. If you have entered two regional NPT servers, and they are both online, then your box is not connected to the Internet. Clock problems and Wi-Fi problems are the two biggest issues with old MXQ boxes. "Limited connection" indicates a networking problem, not a clock problem. Once you solve the networking problem you might not even need ClockSynch. Question: What happens when you connect by wire? If wired connection works, then you have a Wi-Fi problem. If wired connection doesn't work either, then the firmware on your box may have been replaced with a version that boots the box but the lacks the drivers needed to operate the networking chips on your motherboard. In that case, the only way to get the necessary drivers back is to reinstall the original firmware. If you don't have the original firmware, then this video may help: MXQ Upgrade Secrets Part 3 dai.ly/k2o5azuTmeQerLwTPFH The alternate OS shown in that video supports MBOX wired networking and also includes drivers that work with inexpensive Realtek USB Wi-Fi adapters (Android OS doesn't). So now, I'm thinking that you (and several others recently) are experiencing network time problems, not local time TV box problems (like MXQ with Android 4.4.2). Sort comments by newest (if necessary) and read my reply to a comment by thenelsonamaneksperience dated 9/2/23. @@gibswr If no wireless (WiFi) or wired network connection, then no clocksynch. Network connection comes first. That's why WiFi Problems is the subject of episode 1. Also, if no clocksynch, then no streaming. Clocksynch comes second. That's why Clock Problems is the subject of episode 2. These two things must be addressed and corrected (in that order) or else you will NOT be able to upgrade the box.
