MXR M225 Sub Machine octave fuzz

After receiving multiple recommendations from various people, I finally pulled the trigger on one of these bad bois...
The Sub Machine is MXR's "deluxe" version of their 'La Machine' octave fuzz; a modern take on the vintage Foxx 'Tone Machine'.
While the La Machine has plenty of fans, the Sub Machine has extra features that make it well worth picking up, imo...

MXR/Dunlop is putting out some great stuff these days. I have five of their dirt pedals and another MXR similar to what you just covered, the Poly Blue Octave.

100%! They've always been at the top of their game, tbh. Everything I've tried of theirs, both old and new, has been fantastic. I demoed the Poly Blue Octave earlier in the year, and it was one of the best pedals I've ever bought.

Would you say its great for hendrix tones ?

I wouldn't like to say, as it's not really my area. But it can probably get you at least into the right ballpark. I'd say the EHX Octavix would likely be a more accurate "Hendrix" tone, though.
