Wow, great video! Curious as to which one of these pedals or one you didn't list would most mimic the fuzz tone from the old Kustom 68-70 K200 A-4 model, on the amp its called a "Harmonic Clipper" that has the fuzz as used by John Fogerty, CCR? Very unique sound, the amp also has a "Selective Boost" much like frequencies you'd get from an old Fuzzwah pedal but its on a switch instead of the variable pedal. Man, if that pedal also had the same vibrato as the Kustom A-4 it would be the end all pedal, in my mind anyway, lol

I personally am not a huge fuzz user, at least not as much as I used to be when I was really into the my bloody Valentine/Siamese Dream era pumpkins brand of shoegaze. I now would rather utilize fuzz pedals that clean up with volume knobs like the chase tone bc109c, benson germanium fuzz (which has an impedance knob) and the warm audio warm bender. Would love to try the Mythos Golden Fleece or au79. Seems similar to a germanium fuzz face.

Bought a 1966 arbiter for $1200 bux. Best fuzz I've ever heard. Gotta get it down to like 65-70F or put it on an ice pack if its too hot. Sounds insane on my 68 super lead.... Takes all the curves and spits out something colorful. Also the knobs act totally different depending on if its ran thru the THD hotplate or if its just ran in to x2 basketweaves @ 8 ohms... If you got paper voice coils WATCH OUT. You gotta either use an attenuator or run it through 2 cabs because this thing is a speaker burner.

it's a cool pedal, personally i don't like it, but i own it, and i appreciate it for what it is, and i agree that it would be nice to see some of these blues youtubers (or youvalvers if you're on the other side of the pond) try some more experimental kinds of fuzzes like the Carcosa, or some Seppuku or Dunwich stuff, nothing against the classics, and in the end, all the fuzz stuff is based on something classic anyway, but there's not really any sort of hidden gems in here, some great classsics, and some...objectively terrible pedals coughLIZARDQUEENcough i own that one too, and it is hands down one of the worst circuits ever "designed" and by designed, i mean, taking 2 good DIY builders' circuits and mashing them together with very unsuccessful results. it is so bad, and even though i don't feel bad for myself for owning it, i do feel compelled to urge people to not buy it...its so awful, just get a Foxx Tone Machine style pedal

I bought the octahive v2 a few weeks ago and absolutely love it. It can do the lower gain fuzz, ring mod type of octave effects, and even becomes gated with certain settings. I was torn between that, the octaland, and the DBA octave clang that just got reissued. Id still love to try the others, but ended up pulling the trigger on the beetronics. I love how small it is with my crowded board. Now I just have to figure out how to fit the benson germanium preamp when it arrives, if I decide to keep it, which, based on all the demos ive seen, is very likely.

On the tone wood thing... I build guitars for myself as a hobby. I have two firebirds with the same set of pickups. One made mainly out of pearwood and the other out of walnut. Same pickups, same strings, same guitar basically. The only difference is wood. The pearwood one is noticeably darker and more bassy (it's physically heavier too). My drummer can hear the difference in Peltor ear protection on. Go figure.

I highly recommend *(for those that are poor like me) the behringer super fuzz- made me get rid of my vintage-ish big muff... I know there's better ones.. But if you learn to use the gain and eq knobs, you can actually get a lot of tones... Btw, I hate spending money on pedals, but I think I'm going to have to sell some things to try one of those JHS crayons (those sound soo freaking good)... Anyways, I love this channel, I rarely comment on here but I have to admit I'm jealous of a lot of the gear this dude has (especially that orange I've seen in some of the older videos)
