Saint Brembo, that's how we call it in Italy, has saved my life several times. Last time in the past summer, 100 to 20 mph in seconds. I felt the front end of the frame flexing on my Cagiva.

That's a pretty rad story, thanks for sharing bro! I know these brakes are awesome.

@@mxrevival The front lights suddenly broke and went out in the middle of the night on this road outside my city that I was driving at breakneck speed. A matter of fractions of a second and the straight line has become a curve, suddenly appearing in the darkness. Saint Brembo did its job but I aged a few years in seconds.

Looking sick so far. I have done a few set of KTM triple clamps with Cam's Pryme MX pad. Definitely looks way better than those crusty lines on them. Those calipers are fire . Can't to see this build done

The work is flawless as always. Really enjoying these builds. I really enjoyed the whole process of the cerakote and showing us. Quick question do you know how long and what temp the parts were degassed at before being sprayed? 430 stainless is magnetic

Dean says one hour at 300°! We had fun filming the video now we are out at the track riding together. Thanks for teaching me something I did not know about stainless!

The saying the Devil is in the Details is so true!!! Dean does such an amazing job!!! He is the Michelangelo of the coating world!!! I picked up on him setting the parts on puppy pads, that is an awesome little trick for the workbench as they are very absorbent...I will have to steal some away from our chihuahua, Claire!!! Thanks again for another informative and entertaining video!!! I can barely wait to see Helfyre completed!!!

I think the manufacturers need to start putting that coating on all new pivot bolts, especially if they arent gonna put any grease on them from new😂

Right?? That is actually a killer idea

The stock units on GasGas or lets say the orange brother and sister Husky has always been quality, and you elevated the stock look by adding the cerakote, and there is something with all variables of grey that makes it look so frigging good on almost any part on the bike, - you get that factory vibe, you know me by now, awsome again Charles 🤘🏼. Keep an watch fulleye on that Uncle, who knows he might try to engrave that baby elephant inside that sucker 😂!

I love the way they modulate! Have not owned a bike with better brakes yet (although my new YZ is damn close!) You're right about the gray! Just about any shade of it looks SICK! Thanks for watching my man 🙌 I'll watch out for those baby elephants!

Whoever told you it was forging flash was wrong, forging is when a peice of aluminium is heated and pressed into shape under extreme pressure. The top yoke is obviously cast!.
@HellInAHandBasket45 Жыл бұрын
This may be a stupid question, but that makes sense cause I’m pretty stupid guy, how do you decide what is a sensitive part that you want to protect and what is not? Because I see on the triple clamps that the bolt holes are not protected and the steering stem holes are not protected. Are you not worried about the threads being damaged or anything being damaged in the steering stem?
@mxrevival Жыл бұрын
It’s a great question. In fact, it’s suggests that you have a great attention to detail. There would be nothing wrong with protecting those parts you’ve mentioned at all. In this case, the abrasive media is not abrasive enough to really hurt the tolerance of those particular areas. The parts just get a quick dusting, enough to put an etch on them so that they hold the coating well once applied. On top of that, Cerakote is also super thin, so it does not affect tolerances in the opposite direction in terms of buildup. You can literally spray it onto threads and into bores. On the topic of bores, such as brake caliper bores, those are areas we do like to protect. There is more of a precision fit going on there, so to speak, then the other places we’ve spoken about. Those areas would be considered critical since they are holding back fluid, pressure, etc. an order for the brake system to work without failure. Hope that makes sense, thanks for watching, and best of luck if you enter to win this bad boy!

I know the details make the difference for sure, but what about the clamps? The solid banded triple clamps does not do much for you performance wise. Billet clamps grip better to keep your stuff from twisting in a crash. They also apply enough force without squeezing the fork tube so much as to cause any stiction of the fork action. So, what is the cost of going through the trouble of coating the clamps vs. buying a nice set like the x-trig that has the look with the performance? Just a question. Don't want to take away from the nice look. Don't get me wrong.... they look slick as hell. I'd love them on my gas gas over the stock any day. The brakes and suspension parts look bomber as well. The stock billet clamps are the main difference from my 22 EX300 and the 22 KTM300xc.
