Gotta say Luis, it has been some time since I've checked out your channel(bikes in general), took a couple years off. Pumped for you and how your channel has grown, youve grown tech skill drastically as well. Going to take a deep dive over your content this week...cool part too is you have merch. I remember speaking with you about that a couple times a few years ago and your modesty had you hesitant. Anyway...keep up the hard work, success had followed you. Oh...you'll love the MX Tech National shock.

Thank you so so much man!! I really appreciate the words and you coming back to the channel, mean a lot! Things are falling into place fortunately so it's just a matter of keep going and trying to change the offroad world one video at a time :) And regarding the Natty, I'm freaking in love with it! It's the OG of shocks.

Hello! I have WP 48 CC /2012. People say they are the best WP stock ever built. How do you compare this to the Ravens ?
@StepstoPodium10 ай бұрын
hello Joca! Well, yes and no. In some part yes, because properly tuned and well maintained they work really well, but no because they are prone to a lot of reliability issue, namely the purge valve (one of the reason they were discontinued because WP couldn't figure out a way to fix the reliability issues at an effective cost-cap). Comparing both would be a bit unfair to the WP since it's a discontinued product with more than 10 years, but I've ridden with both and in terms of comfort (a strong point from those WP) the Ravens stand as comfortable if not more than those! They truly are surprisingly comfortable :)

I love my Raven Forks! But can you please do a video on how to service/rebuild them? As you mentioned there are no directions on how to service these forks. Your video would be something that no one else has done that would bring tremendous value to many of us. Regarding the comments on the special tools, I don't see that as much of a problem. MX-Tech lowered the cost of the tool kit and they have it in stock. I just need a video to show me how to service them! Please please!
@abj56099 ай бұрын
I would also love to see a raven service video. What is the lowered cost of the tool kit?
I had a question for you on the Supertrax shock. On an MX track what would you suggest would be a good baseline for the TXN adjuster to start testing it out.
@StepstoPodium8 ай бұрын
Start with it fully closed and keep opening clicks until you don't feel any instability from the rebound effect

Oh and yes I think I may be very inclined to buy Jeremy's full suspension set up next time, Ravens and National shock. I purchased fork drop in system Lucky a few years ago and the engineering is state of the art

I'm riding with it right now and my god... take a look at how I'm able to ride on my latest video. The MX-Tech stuff makes you a ducking hero.

Good content as always, very in-depth and well explained!! Could you do a review on this 2024 KTM?

Thank you so much Leandro! I really appreciate it 🙌 Well, I have to get my hands on one of those to start with 😂

Have you experimented around with different weight oils? I am now needing more rebound control, and was thinking of switching to a 10w oil from the 5w oil.
@StepstoPodium4 ай бұрын
Don't do that for the love of god
@joelballard49554 ай бұрын
@@StepstoPodium lol. I may try 7.5 oil be for I send them back to MXTech for a revalve. I’ve sorta reached the max on the current set up I need more hold up, and more rebound dampening.

I read a review saying the clicker adjustment was not good. Like you have to go from one extreme or the other to make or feel any difference. I had the lucky carbons in my old 150sx and liked but now on Beta 200re and kicking idea to run the Ravens.
@StepstoPodium2 ай бұрын
It's without a doubt the forks that have the greatest range of adjustment, hands down

So, with 50 clicks on the compression, what is the cost per click 🙂 Cheers for the excellent review

How much oil do you put in them when servicing the cartridge. I have 30 hours on them and need to change oil.
@StepstoPodium9 ай бұрын
Between 380 and 400 :)
@joelballard49559 ай бұрын
@@StepstoPodium cool. That’s what I put in the outer chamber. 380. But on the inner chamber I wasn’t sure. So I filled it to where when I installed the base valve assembly I had slight bit of overflow. About 200cc.

I really like my Ravens but because you need an expensive tool just to change the cartridge oil, I probably would have gone with WP 6500’s instead.
@DDRDK10 ай бұрын
Is the tool even purchasable? My worry is having to send my stuff out every time for a rebuild. WP stuff I have a local guy I drive to his house. Very very convenient.
@motogp1gprix110 ай бұрын
I think it is but it's really expensive.@@DDRDK
@joelballard49559 ай бұрын
You don’t need a special tool. I just changed the oil in mine with zero special tools. You can press the top down enough to get the snap ring out. I used a large adjustable clamp and it worked fine.
@DDRDK9 ай бұрын
@joelballard4955 make a video! Lot of people would love to see it. Could probably convince my local guy to do it. I wanna try mx tech stuff pretty bad but don't know if it'll beat my dialed in cone valve stuff.

Are you doing offroad or mx?

Echo request for a raven service video. Especially since they require a special tool to remove the internal cartridge cap.

Will do one through MX-TECH! 🙌 already working on it and will be released in the coming months.
@StepstoPodium thank you! Awesome channel, keep the videos coming, huge fan here!

So you believe these cartridges are better than the 6500 kit? And why? I heard you mention the Raven is as comfortable as the AER forks that were setup for enduro. I've heard many people complain the AER fork is very harsh , so for me, this is not a great compliment. Can you comment or add some detail to this to clarify?
@StepstoPodium8 ай бұрын
Far better. They focus more on offroad needs. Provides more comfort but amazing bottoming resistance. Well, from my personal experience with the AER, I can say they can become quite comfortable (although I think they can be too soft and feedbackless to my personal taste). The Ravens provide comfort without sacrificing feedback needed to ride confidently and essentially, fast. The 6500 are just a simple closed cartridge kit with an external adjuster for preload. Nothing wrong with them, but don't have the potential the Ravens have.
