I have a hard time seeing how a handheld is preferred in a pastor mic situation - get it on the head, at the mouth, so whatever he does with his hands or wherever he moves or however he turns his head, the mic element is basically in the same place. Unless they really are going to keep a handheld at their mouth, they need to be on a headworn mic...IMHO. And lavs are OK as a second choice, but for me it's headworn > lav > handheld.
