I cut my hair short. Then I discovered you and realized short hair can be super chic. Did I mention I am 70?

Loving my short hair, too. Might have to look into that styling product. My hair texture has changed and the products I used to swear by just aren’t cutting it anymore.

@emilywheatley, not sure if you will see this, but hopefully a skeptical viewer will. As I’ve posted before, I’m 60 and pleasantly plump. Opposite of you! However. I’ve watched you for the past 2 months since deciding I wanted a minimalist wardrobe. Here is what I’ve learned from you… Grocery store uniform before: yoga pants, shapeless tee, slip on sneakers, tight pony, no makeup. Grocery store uniform after: black jeggings, fitted tee, graphic hoodie, platform sneakers, girlie headband, and at least mascara and red lip. I’m still comfortable, but could easily go anywhere and run into anyone in public and not want to hide. Shopping your closet, adding simple touches, and a bold lip can still be comfortable and easy, but slightly elevated. Thanks for everything you taught me in 2023. Looking forward to learning more in 2024.

Wish you all the best for 2024! Still can't agree to the fake leather trend. What most people seem to forget: usually this stuff is still made from oil, so on the long run more of it doesn't help anybody out. Additionally I didn't have one faux leather piece in my whole life that I could use longer than a year on a regular basis. My leather Doc Marten boots are serving me great since 1995. There must be better solutions than products made from oil.

As a long time vegan the arguments pro / con fake leather are real. It’s the same with natural fibers. We all have to make the choices we feel comfortable with. Is wool/cashmere/silk etc. OK. At least they will biodegrade.

It depends on the person's reason for not wanting to use leather.

I hear you, and long-term consequences matter! Most of the time, I buy my faux leather (shoes, bags) secondhand, but MOST people prefer leather, so those things are more likely to find new homes! I've had faux leather things that wore nicely for years, and some that fell apart waaaaaaaay too fast, and I can't always tell by looking which will be which, and that really sucks. I had a secondhand Guess purse that basically SHREDDED, and a secondhand Jette purse that's held up beautifully for years. They both LOOKED fine at first. So frustrating. Also, most people are using a LOT of plastic every day, so it bothers me when fake leather gets singled out as a greater evil. Once, over lunch a coworker told me she hates it that vegans wear so much faux leather, and it was hard not to say "but everything you're eating right now is wrapped in plastic?" One workaround for now is wearing fashion items that aren't even meant to LOOK like leather: for example, I have a metal clutch for evening looks, a chain belt, a big cork purse, thick jersey sneakers, etc.. We all want a variety of textures in our closets, and leather/leather looks aren't our only option.

I also purchased a cropped blazer (Victoria Beckham cropped blazer at a supper discounted price! score!) and I really love wearing it ... being petite and short torso it really gives a ''look'' without drowning me.

Took your reco for the Moroccan oil hair clay, terrific, everything you said it was! Perfect for styling my edgy pixie! Bought a knee length demin belted trench from Duluth Trading this past fall and loving it. Maybe not quite as edgy as your frayed hem long trench but it is super cute.🥰 always enjoy your fashion perspective.

Loved your content in 2023 and look forward to what topics you’ll explore in 2024. I did fall in love with many of your style examples and found decent dupes for a few of them that I had to have (maxi denim coat and your silver toed Jeffrey Campbell boots - and found a pair with a gold tipped toes too, had to have both)

Emily! Guess what? This morning on my Amazon app a jean trench showed up in the suggestions. And guess what… I bought it! I can’t wait! I hope it fits and I like it. I have a super simple casual style - I think this will be a great statement addition for me! Thanks for the inspo!

I love your style. You influenced me to buy those Jeffrey Campbell Mellenium boots. I love them. Now I can get that edgy look with jeans and tshirts....but the boots are tight in the ankle. One of them in particular. Otherwise they are very comfortable. And they were on sale. Will they loosen up in the ankle area? I love your content!

I'm so glad I found you on here, looking to go back to face to face work this year and I'm getting so many ideas to think about for my wardrobe. Saying that I live in Sydney so I cook most of the year, but I'll be able to use some in the winter.

You may have mentioned this in another video but I’m not sure. Would you talk about the rings that you wear on your married Ringfinger? I really like the millimeter thickness and the look that they provide. I’d love to know the millimeter width. My Husband and I went looking for new rings today in preparation for our 25th wedding anniversary that’s coming up and it was a total disaster. We went to a jeweler and we expressed that I don’t like thin bands. I made it extremely clear that I wanted something thicker and kept asking them to show me what was possible. Literally, the lady just kept staring at me like I was speaking another language and she was super rude and condescending to me, she refused to show me anything that wasn’t a 1.6 mm band and that’s totally not what I’m looking for. My husband felt really disrespected and disgusted so we left and he said we’re never going back there.😂

leather is a byproduct of the meat trade. If not used, it will be thrown away. Animals are not raised for their hides.
