Doom and SimCity 2000. I put so many hours into both. SimCity 3000 was my favorite of the series, but 2000 is a definite classic.
@OldAndNewVideoGamesАй бұрын
I think SimCity 4 was my fave. That said, I easily spend the most time playing 2000, and it's the only one I periodically come back to for an odd game or two.

Oh, I just love this series so far! This is one of your best videos yet, a real masterpiece. :) Your stories of your childhood are really sweet and very relatable too. Thank you for the nostalgia trip! :) Oh, yes. I feel that a two-bacon like needs to be invented for this one. :D 🥓🥓 I've only played MK2, Pinball Dreams (ooh, pinball!) and Fury of the Furries. Not the actual Doom yet, just mods. But I'm itching to try the rest too. I agree with you that playing with friends (or family too, of course) is so much better and even single player games can be made multiplayer with a bit of imagination. :)
@OldAndNewVideoGamesАй бұрын
A double Bacon! That's a new one! :) And I'm glad that you like it. I doubt that this will become popular but after many lista of the best, most popular or unknown, it's sometimes fun to tackle those games that I liked. Even if some overlap.

@@GreySectoid Yep, late 80s and early 90s were definitely much better to the Amiga. But then, it stopped competing and eventually went bankrupt, so we are where we are today, thanks to Commodore's failures. ;)

Man. What a year. Pirates Gold, Doom, Mortal Kombat and SimCity 2000 are all unquestionable all-timers, but Cannon Fodder and Day of the Tentacle are just as memorable IMO.

I would say. 1. Elite. Nether really played that but it was just impressive, despite wireframe graphics. We will found Raxxla, one day. 2. Master of Orion. It required some extra memory, so I've need to load it from floppy drive. And these 3. Warcraft, Orcs and Humans. Too bad they nether made another game after Warcraft III, Frozen Throne. 😼 Anyway, Day of Tentacles with Founding Father Washington declaring all households need a vacuum cleaner in their basement was way too hilarious to miss, I agree.

1993. That was year of MUME for me. Being a University student, living in dorm, there was no way for PC. But I could always visit university's internet center (a building with few Unix machines with all those wonderful terminals), ignore all the folks wanting to read their e mail and dive into text based Tolkien world. I almost dropped out of University because of it, MUME was serious stuff.

And of course, SimCIty 2000... i played that game for like 6 years straight. Day of the Tentacle & Pirates! Please don't take this the wrong way, but could you upload the same videos without commentary? There's nothing wrong with the commentary at all, it's just that me and my friend really like to get together on weekends, drink a few beers, talk and just look at footage from old games, but so few people upload footage without commentary, it's like we've already seen it all.
@OldAndNewVideoGamesАй бұрын
I get where you're coming from, and I understand the appeal of a drink, a buddy, and a retro gaming convo. I have a buddy for that too, but it's not that kind of a channel. Sorry. I do leave a source channel name baner for each game so that should be helpful. Also, Major Thriftwood is a great to go place for high-quality non commentary footage. Mind you, he competes the games, so that's not just short clips.

Pinball Dreams - I loved the Amiga version, but the DOS version just didn't feel right. It was ported by Spidersoft and none of their pinball games were all that popular. Pinball Fantasies on DOS was a much better port. Fury of the Furries - This was also released with a Pac-Man theme as Pac In Time.
@OldAndNewVideoGamesАй бұрын
I agree, but I also don't. You know, so that is more fun. ;) I agree that SpiderSoft knew very little about pinballs. But Pac-in-time was definitely not a port of Fury of the Furries, it was so botched, so remade that to be at least (SNES version) was not fun. Line at all.
