I would wait till it rattles in the nut. But I'll forgive you.. you've waited 10 years. Interesting macadamia tree. Smooth leaves and flowers are yellow colour. We Waited 6 or 7 years in qld. Taste great. I'm going to try grow a macadamia from seed.

Surely those nuts you missed will have taken at least 9 months to 10 months to form after flowers ? You can wait for them to fall before harvesting if they are like other nuts, then a short period of drying so the nut is easier to separate from the shell. Beautiful trees , something we can't grow here in the UK as it's too cold, although I could grow pecans if I had a larger garden 😣😣

Yep I still can't believe I missed them hanging there so long. I'm wondering whether there were others that fell but good luck finding them in thick mulch. I'm just relieved the tree is self pollinating and fruiting!

@@RealLifeFruitopia yes they drop normally and they taste best if left about 6 months to dry - a mate in way colder Donvale get heaps off his three 8mt tall trees before the rats get them

Cow manure and lots of water. You probably know by now that you need to let them dry out before you crack them and eat them.
