Hey slick if you can get an old magnet out of a speaker drop it in the bottom of the Shovelhead oil tank below the filter you can take it out with your pointy nose pliers each time you change the oil it catches any metal particles and a lot of Black Sludge saving it going back through the motor cheers from Oz

Good video as always. I'm surprised you rode Shovel around as much as you did, before changing oil. anytime i get a new bike, first thing i do is change all the fluids, plugs and wires, etc., but at least you did it and i'm pretty sure she is appeciative. Peace-out!

Big ed, i totally like going completely over a new bike when i take possession of it, but it’s a long story of why i hadn’t, my life was in a crazy whirl wind of insane busyness last month also with unexpected circumstances, that had me riding that bike!!! I had purchased it a week and a half before unexpectedly being forced to take it to North Carolina with hippie, i was preparing the road king, the Flathead and my pickup truck for the trip, the Flathead unexpectedly gave me issues where on the last couple days before loading up, i couldn’t take her!! I didn’t even have a spare night to drop the Shovelhead oil, i did at least call the guy i bought it from and asked and he said the oil had been changed 6months prior. So i took a huge gamble taking it and riding it, i even said that in my N.C. Video. But ANYWAYS, my life is back on track, got OTHER peoples bikes done, and now I’m caught up enough to start working on MY bikes!!!!! I am guilty of taking the shovel on a couple extra rides, after getting home from NC. But i appreciate your concern for OL BLUE’s health!!!! 😂😂😂 i’m back on the job now daddy o!!! 👍🍺 SLICK

nah, the standard pipe set up works loose too. tried a slf tapper and caulk but the caulk eventually blows and the motor pops on the over run. the only once and for all fix for you is; sell me your flattie. look into my eyes, not around my eyes, sell me your flattie. 8/

Hippies right, you do some awesome production and editing on your vids! As far as the shovel goes, mine uses the perf form filter, I think thats the name anyway. Pacific Mike uses the same filter, so I know its a good one! What weight and brand oil are you running? I cant find shit around here in a straight 60, even at the independent shops, theyre all selling 20/50. Thanks again bro 🤘

Unless you live in Arizona, straight 60 is a little heavy for a Shovelhead at start-up, 50W is a better choice all around.

@terrymassey7619 hey terry, i run drag specialties 60wt in the hotter summer months and lucas or drag specialties 50wt in the spring fall and winter months. Fortunately i have old skool independent cycle shop near me that carry all the straight weights on hand, when i don’t have time to physically pick it up i order a case of lucas 50wt off amazon, and like i did just recently i ordered a case of drag specialties 60wt off dennis kirk!!! It’s nice having your oil show up at your doorstep. Most of the big part suppliers carry most the oils your looking for like dennis kirk, jp cycles, and throttle addiction just to name a few!!! I never use synthetics in any of my older bikes!! 👍🍺 SLICK

We all slick look lucky had a good Father's Day is that guy that looks like an old Vietnam vet that was with the Gray hair there planting cucumbers is that your dad you never did say and is that your dad's white Western star? you never did say about that either. Anyway from Father's Day I had a pretty good one I went back to Missouri to go for a float with a couple of my kids didn't work out but that's what I did and now I'm back in Arizona but before I came back here I went to the born free in California as opposed to last time when I didn't get a chance to run into Pacific Mike at David Mann's get together app and Ventura I did run into a Saturday and I told him what was going on but I couldn't remember which video you had that seat out on the road with him in it so anyway man you have a good 10 yeah and that the exhaust pipes on that flat head make sure you'll figure out how to seal that up but anyway you don't want cool air going in there when you shut that off cause it'll screw them valves right up Anyway talk to you later man I'm looking forward to that flat track stuff you got coming up

Well Mack, my family history is kind of a long story, but my biological father who I barely knew, who was in an outlaw motorcycle club in the 70’s , has Long since passed away he was pretty much a scumbag and left me my brothers and mom, A long time ago!!! But yes, the gray haired man planting the cucumbers is my stepfather who I call my dad because he raised me since I was nine years old and taught me how to be a man and gave me good work ethics!! And yes, that is his western star. He is a owner operator, over the road truck driver!!! That’s so cool.
