This video is probably our longest video to date but one of our absolute favorites. This interior transformation took almost 1 month to complete but it was SO worth it. I can’t wait to cruise in style with Danny across the country once my 1967 Pontiac Tempest project is complete. This was a HUGE undertaking and I could not be happier with how the interior turned out.

That floorboard rust isnt really that bad. In the NW, cars from this era were twice that bad 30 years ago, Cal cars have an advantage in that respect. Good lookin’ interior! I’m glad you went with a factory look, it looks CLEAN AF!

LIV!!! You gotta scotchgard those seat stitches!! Just get the "Scotchgard fabric water seal" in the spray can,, spray itsomeinto the cap and use a fine brush to put it on wet into the stitching, then wipe off with a microfiber. Otherwise? You'll have a TON of staining on those white threads, nearly impossible to clean later. Gorgeous build! Wait til you see my light metallic blue Studebaker Hawk's interior job this spring :)

You can also get Seam Sealer from a Fabric store to put on the thread. Its a roll-on application and would stop anything from going into the thread holes onto foam and protect thread.

Most manufactures used the rubber floor covering was used on the most basic models. Most cars got the interior up grades that included carpeting. A lot of people liked the rubber floors, easier to clean. Very popular in pickup trucks. Most of the floor damage wasn't from the rubber floors, it was the fiber insulation they used as sound deadening as well as heat retention.

I was watching your interview with Derek on In the Aisle. That overhead cam was the only small block engine Pontiac used in that era. The 326, 350, 389, 421 were all big block engines. That's why the Pontiac 326and 350 were such a durable engine. That overhead cam 6 with the right parts and tuning was a good runner. When rebuilt with higher compression pistons, more aggressive cam and the dual quadrajet intake manifold with the dual exhaust headers the could really scream. Not capable of the power of the V8's, but not bad. There are small block classes in a lot of racing. If you wanted to race your Pontiac in these classes, most people ran a small block Chevy.

Liv, I’m so jealous…. Interior turned out beautiful. I have a 68 GTO that my dad bought brand new in 69 and I bought it from him my junior year of high school. I still have her but she is rough and so am I. I’m 55 and was diagnosed with Parkinson’s at 44. So I’m not sure I’ll ever get the chance to do what you guys are doing. Great job cant wait to see you drive it.

I had a 67 white tempest that drove from Ohio to Colorado. It was in perfect condition even at almost 20 years old back then. Everything be thought it was a GTO. I miss it. White with turquoise blue interior. It gave us grief at first, due to the altitude in Colorado. But a quick adjustment to the timing and we was good to go!! Great car!!! Ya all do great job with everything you touch

You guys did some really nice and clean work plus you've learned a ton along the way. These kind of projects always snowball as you go along and that's ok. It's what makes the hotrodding experience so great. One reminder........a car is never finished as you'll find stuff to do as long as you own it. You should have a good feeling of pride for what you've accomplished. Well done.

Andrew really kicked butt on those floor pans and prepping the old sheet metal. It should be strong and safe now. Will you undercoat it on the bottom? It will be really nice when it is all done. Body bushings were shot too. You guys make a great team. 415 looks great. Love the reupholstered bench seats. Roberto did an awesome job. You have to drill holes to bolt down the front seats? I would repaint the body original color.

Wow! The new interior looks awesome. I thought Liv was going to pass out when she saw the rusty floor pans. That whole segment was so funny. But ya’ll pinned your ears back and got the job done. Great work. Maybe it wasn’t shown in the video but I would recommend DynaMat to insulate the floors against sound and heat. It did wonders for my Corvette.

Old cars are like old houses you just keep finding more and more problems but if you know that going in you can just enjoy it. I would have just replaced the entire floor pans. No need to measure and cut and you know the whole floor is good. Kind of a waste of money to chop it up. I had a 65 Bonneville I drove to high school that my uncle gave to me. I love Pontiacs!

I had a 66 Tempest back in about 1985. Beautiful cars. Even then, the front and rear glued in windows leaked like crazy and I always had wet floors. I pulled the rear window out and the frame was really rusted. My floor pans were still good tho as the water would make puddles in the back seat area. The 326 engine was kind of a dog, even when at its best. But still, loved that car. Life happened, got married, sold the car but have fond memories of dating my future wife in that car and etc. thanks for the video!
