56 is my favorite year. Partly because that was our family car growing up. Good pick. Put in a trunk floor, give it a front end alignment and exhaust pipes that go far enough back and youre on your way. I noticed you complaining about the ride. Maybe those front springs are too stiff. I never did like the gasser look myself. When i build mine it will be up at the back a bit like an old timy hot rod.
