Recently completed restoration of a 65 Cuda left to me by a deceased relative. The original 373 did not survive so I dropped in a crate 318 with an Edelbrock 4-bbl. Look forward to following your project.

I had a 66 Barracuda Formula S Steve that I built a 340 for. It was one hell of a fun car and I used to cruise the beach of Ft Walton Beach Florida when I was stationed down at Eglin AFB from 87-89. Those older barracudas are either loved or hated but I’m in the love catagory!! I then found a 67 barracuda convertible I bought in 98 I think it was when I was up in Iowa. I love em all!! As long as it’s a Mopar anyhows

Pretty cool back story. I got a 73 Baracuda. When I was 19 I traded a Yamaha 400 for it that I bought for 400 bucks. As like your story I got married life changes priorities and the car sat on blocks in my garage for almost 16 years and then I got divorced and suddenly I had free time to do the things I wanted and I restored. Or maybe I'll say. I resurrected my cuda. I did it on a serious budget and by the time I had it running and painted. I had 2200 dollars invested. Now it's 20 years later and the car is still in my garage and I now have 2 sons from my second wife still married and the boys are catching the car bug and starting to love dad's car. I've got a couple other cars also. A 69 roadrunner serious project. A 70 z 28 almost completely restored and a 69 CHEVELLE project. Can't wait for the boys to help me finish them. There's a car for each of us to cruise. And it all started with the cuda

Awesome car and story. I still have my ‘69 383 Road Runner since I was 15, I bought it for $500 in 1979. I used it all through high school and college. Stopped driving it and took it apart in 1995. Life happens but I kept working on it. Another 40 hours or so and I should be done. Keep the videos coming, I’ll be watching. Good luck with everything.

Very similar stories....I want a Road Runner or 69 Dart next...just have to see how things go...Thanks for Watching....
@1982MCI2 жыл бұрын
My brother had a 69 Road Runner 383 4spd he bought in 77 or 78. We found it sitting in a barn covered in pigeon crap on the roof and windshield at least a foot deep, and that’s not an exaggeration. It did not run and had a broken A Arm on the front end. Gave $500 for his also. 33k miles on the car and interior was absolutely mint. I still remember the day like it was yesterday that the wrecker pulled it from the barn and brought it home. He found an a-arm at the junkyard and got it changed out and when we started diagnosing the engine and found it had no fire so swapped coils with no change so he pulled the distributor out of the block and noticed the drive gear on the bottom of the distributor had snapped off, probly at the same time he snapped the a arm. The guy was racing when it all happened and he hit the curb and the sudden drop to the pavement at 100+mph may have been enough to snap the gear off. Went back to the junkyard and got another 383 distributor, stuck it in, made sure timing was set, ran a fuel line from the electric fuel line into a gas can , hit the fuel pump switch and let it pump for a few seconds and hit that key and it spun about three times and popped right off, scaring the hell out of us but such a beautiful sound!! All three of us brothers were mad about cars back then. This was my oldest brothers Road Runner but all three of us worked at the same small town fried chicken restaurant while in school and we made our own money for our cars and our upgrades. The the Road Runner was in great shape but paint had seen better days at that point. The pigeon crap had done a number to it by the time we saved it from the barn. A friend of ours from school had a dad that was a body and paint guy at a dealership during the day but then had a big shop at home where he did side jobs every night and on weekends. My brother got him to paint it for him and he went back B-5 blue which was factory color and he had the blue low back bucket seats, no console, put American Racing aluminum slots on it and he drove that car thru high school but he ended up selling the summer of 81 before he went off to college cause he was short on a little bit of money for books and stuff. There were so many good times in that car and that’s the car responsible for turning me into a Mopar nut. Everybody else in school is just like everyone else around the country and had Camaros or mustangs but we always liked being different and me and him loved Mopars and the brother between us had fallen for old VW Bugs. In summer of 82, the parts guy at our local Napa Store put his 74 Road Runner up for sale and of course, I had to have it!! It was a bit out of my price range at $1,500 but I worked out a deal with him to let me break it up into 3 payments and pick it up when the final payment was made. I basically followed my brothers lead and fixed mine up similair to how he did his and in January 86, I left for the Air Force long story short, several years after I left, mom sold mine to a guy that had kept stopping and asking about it. I miss it every day but you can’t get mad at your mom for doing what she needed to do at the time. I’m always keeping my eyes open for another 69 or 74 tho now. I want another one one day before my health gets worse than it is now. I’ve had numerous barracudas and others over the years but there ain’t nothing like the road runners in my book!! I’m glad I’ve found this channel!! It seems like there’s a bunch of us here from the 80s with similar stories and experiences. Would be nice one day to have a car show when he gets his AAR back together and we have a weekend of cars, bbq, 80s rock, and trips down memory lane!! Sorry this got so long brother but when you start talking Road Runners, I just can’t contain it, lol You guys take care, be safe out there and I’m so proud of both of ya for being able to hang on to these things and not go down the road my brother and I had too.

If it had dents in the fenders and rust in the floorpans it would still be a cool car but that car is pretty awesome! The wife and I married in 86, we had 2 1971 Challengers. The 440 car had transmission issues and after changing it in the middle of the night, outside in a thunderstorm, the front pump seal still leaked and I got mad and traded it off. Uuuuuugh I wish I could do that one over again! Beautiful car there!

Do you have T/A Heads? "T/A" heads are what make a "T/A", a "T/A" ... So, if you don't have the original T/A vin tag, I think you might have meant, "Fender Tag."? If this is what you meant, there is a service that can provide you with an duplicate Fender Tag, which details all the factory options, including "T/A options. Check with Galen Govier.
@drcracinggarage80473 жыл бұрын
Yes they are TA Head's...I don't have fender tags...I know in the video I said Vin Tag...It's a true AAR just not matching block
