My "new to me" Frame Is a early model Too. I don't find it difficult to open on barrels installed so far. But... My damn pin wont stay in!! (Cocking Hinge pin 1/8") I ordered a Belum replacement and used a bit of sleeving locker. So far its OK...

Later original models can use Gen2 barrels. The later models used a stepped lug.

Slight correction. Easy opens speared on numerbers 195000 plus.

@@davidrivero7943 it’s not that hard to open. Two piece barrels. My SSK barrel was a little tough until it got broken in.
