Pepe! Its so good to see you making it through the 12 month gates mate. I have followed you since you started (talking about different options for pots i believe) you have come a long way in a short amount of time!! amazing work. Another option you may have is to pull cool air from under your house into the greenhouse/shade cloth over the roof. I use this method in mine and it works quite well. first hot summer will be the real test tho. best of luck to you : )

Hey Pepe, if you're not in a flood zone area perhaps an 'underground greenhouse' might be an idea - worth a research?? And those sunflower seeds - give your kids a few corners around the land and a few handfuls of seeds and let them at it. It could be their baby to look after and then you'd get your own free homegrown seeds.. Years ago I planted one seed and ended up with hundreds of seeds off that beautiful one plant to feed our pet Galah. Just thinking out loud Pepe - love you brother. You've come a long way man .... and managed to have more kids in the process, hehe.
@PepeFassos6 жыл бұрын
Dear Chris 😊... You are a wonderful asset to this channel! Certainly an ideas woman and it's a pleasure having your support. You know my story and it makes me smile . I'm going to do what you said with the sunflower. Another reason it would be great is the beneficial insects they would attract. The buyer prefers spray free and i will honor that. I am in a flood zone unfortunately. Otherwise I would build my whole house underground...lol. Gets so hot here in summer... I would love a hobbit style house ! Big flood comes every 10 or so years that would fill it up. Wish you and yours a beautiful day ! Love you sister !! Bless ! 🙏🌱🌱

First 12 months are the hardest. Looks like your right on it mate. Dont know if you have looked into it but earth pipes for heat control in the green house. You might have seen it basically your blowing air into pipes laid underground. The ground is a constant temp so in summer it will cool and in winter it will bring the temp up. bla bla bla. Nice one mate well done with the new orders and all the best, Dave.
@PepeFassos6 жыл бұрын
Good evening mate.. OZ time 😉 Thank you. I now understand about the first 12 months hardship.. what a ride !! I'm considering moving the greenhouse to another location on property- next to my shadehouse. The piping etc could be done prior to the move which would be ideal. I had heard of it but its folks like yourself that remind me "there is always a way" ! I thank you for that mate 😎 Take care and heal well 👍

I thought you might have. I dont know the math on how much you need and all that but could be useful if you can do it. All the best with year two ;-)

Hey Pepe, another great video as always. I was looking at running some experiments on stacking vs not stacking and covering vs not covering. Just wondering when you are stacking about time frames. I was thinking along the lines of 2/3 days stacked then 3 more days covered then uncovered for a day or so ?
@PepeFassos6 жыл бұрын
Hey Ethan 😎.. Thanks buddy. Thanks for watching too 👍 Sounds like a great experiment as I too have tried this. The stacking works good for large seed (peas and sunflower etc) but I've had good results not stacking smaller seeds. The trick was to cover your seed with a medium of some type to mimic weight and nature and just put a black out dome on. Otherwise yes - 2/3 days stack is good pending if germination has happened. If your going to stack you may as well wait until the seeds have started to grow.. some varieties take longer to germinate. Covering them after that will certainly get you some height before you uncover. I say try it !! No harm done this way. 🙂👍🌱

I make a frame of electrical conduit to hold shade cloth to put over the greenhouse in the hot season. But heating in the cold is a bugger.

love your videos pepe! i was wondering if you could link or tell me about the shade cloth technique you use for your trays?
@PepeFassos6 жыл бұрын
Hey John 🙂... Thank you !! I'm glad your here ! ... Shade cloth technique is one of my own tricks. I purchased about 120 of those large trays second hand. Problem with them was the size of the drain holes -- massive !! I cut shade cloth to fit bottom of tray so can use them for growing sunflowers. Stops soil falling through. Shade cloth is reusable and it works excellent. Enjoy your weekend mate 😎👍🌱
@sharonreum31345 жыл бұрын
To reuse the shade cloth do you need to wash it off and disinfect it, or do you simply Shake It off and reuse? I live in the states and I'm so inspired by watching your videos that I just may give this a try myself. I live near the Villages in Florida. I probably would have started already but I can't decide if I want to grow hydroponically in Coco coir mats like City Hydro does. or use your method. Thank you again and congratulations on your success.
