Same, In September I was in Guangzhou, Jiangmen, Zhuhai, Macao, using the 15 day visa free option. On the 13th day we went to Macao, then re-entered China. Like Hong Kong, Macao is the one country, 2 systems, so we re-entered China and had another 15 day valid visa. We were in Shanghai in 2023. China takes a lot of beating, everything is clean, safe, and the food and taxis are so cheap. Looks like you are still getting negative people who think everything is staged. They think that the 11M Wuhan citizens dropped everything to appear as extras just for you to paint Wuhan positively. LOL

Welcome to my hometown. As a native of Wuhan, I would like to make a brief introduction: Wuhan is divided into three regions by the Yangtze River and the Hanshui River, namely Hankou, Hanyang and Wuchang. Wuhan is known for its abundant water resources, and naturally the attractions are all water-related. The most famous of these is the 'Yellow Crane Tower', an ancient building overlooking both sides of the river, and the river beaches on both sides of the Yangtze (a must-see at night), followed by the 'East Lake', China's largest inner-city lake. In addition to its beauty, Wuhan's main attraction is its breakfast (pronounced 'guo zao' in the local dialect) culture. Wuhan's local carb-rich breakfasts are inexpensive and come in hundreds of varieties. In fact, the street where you go to eat 'dou pi', 'Tube Alley', is not the ideal location for local snacks; for authentic Wuhan food, we recommend 'liang dao street'. Despite its many attractions, Wuhan is not really a tourist city and its economy is dominated by industry, education, transportation and commerce. If you go to the Wuchang district, which is full of colleges and universities, the language communication problem should be better. Finally, thank you for coming to Wuhan and showing the beauty of this city and have fun in Wuhan.

Wuhan hosted the World Military Games (whose opening ceremony is still available on ytb) in October 2019 and in the next month or two, the pandemic emerged in the city. coincidence? The US Military sent a team of military athletes to Wuhan in that event and it was said a female athlete from the Team USA called Bennasse was sick and visited the hospital in Wuhan at that time, not too far from the seafood market which was the epicenter of the pandemic a month later. It was obvious that the US military planted COVID into Wuhan in the World Military Games.

After visiting so many places in China, you should find that each city is clean, tidy and orderly compared with the west. Some people think that this is the starting point of the epidemic, but China people think that it originated from the 7th military world games in Wuhan in October 2019. At that time, the United States sent a large team of more than 300 people, and only got 0 gold medals, 3 silver medals and 5 bronze medals. As a big sports country, the number of medals won was very mismatched. At that time, five players had symptoms of infectious diseases such as fever, cough and diarrhea, which was associated with the phenomenon of white lung disease around Dirk Ridderborg virus in the United States before. I believe the root of the virus came from the United States.

China is a people's country, so the meanings of many words are actually very different. Blockade is a terrifying term in the West, but China's blockade is only a temporary control of people's travel by the country. However, the entire institution of the country is operating, including free food delivery to all citizens. The main purpose of the blockade is to block the virus and provide buffer time for medical institutions to treat it. For new viruses, the increase in the number of infected people at the same time makes it difficult for many people to receive timely treatment, which is the biggest cause of death. All measures taken by China are aimed at reducing casualties among the public

In the second half of the video, you want to know what the locals experienced at that time. I can share some: My company is in Shenzhen, a southern city in China. At the end of the year, I returned to my hometown in Hubei, a city next to Wuhan, for the Chinese New Year. Then the virus appeared, and some streets were restricted from travel. At the worst time, restrictions were imposed on residential areas. During the most difficult period, there was indeed a shortage of food. But the government sent staff and volunteers with passes to deliver food to each residential area. We just lacked the variety of food, but we did not starve. Let me talk about myself first. I had close contact with a friend who lived in Wuhan. Without knowing whether I was infected, I blocked myself. For at least 2 months, I rarely left my room and waited for my family to finish their meals before eating alone. And I disinfected the areas I stayed in before going to the toilet or eating. In order to avoid causing trouble to others, I suspended part of my business and retained the most basic business. I only contacted my employees in Shenzhen through the Internet. Through the Internet, I bought some masks to donate to Wuhan and made donations. To be honest, the long-term self-isolation has affected my health to a certain extent, and my income has been reduced by a large part. But this is voluntary, compared with the lives of me, my family and friends, these are nothing. There are more medical staff and other workers working hard to save everyone. In addition, my aunt is a frontline doctor. Their hard work is unimaginable. There is no time to eat and sleep at all. Sit down and eat a few bites of food anytime and anywhere, lie down for a while, and then continue to work. Due to insufficient manpower, all provinces and cities in China have sent medical staff to Hubei for support. There are also a lot of material assistance. Doctors and nurses will be infected at any time, and some people will sacrifice. They are the greatest. After the desperate struggle of various government structures and medical institutions, and the cooperation of ordinary people. The epidemic has been controlled and we finally won. Looking back now, it is like a dream. Some great frontline personnel and ordinary people will stay in that dream forever. I commemorate them. I thank them. I resist all man-made viruses! I hope for world peace.

In 1911, there was another big event happened in Wuhan called "Wuchang uprising". This event fired the first shot of the famous Xinhai Revolution, which ended the monarchy system having been ruling China for more than 2000 years and leaded to the foundation of the first Republic in Asia, Republic of China. That's why there is a Shouyi (Be the first to rise in revolt) Road in Wuhan. In 2020 when Wuhan is suffering in COVID, Chinese media encouraged Wuhan by saying "Wuhan is a heroical city" because of this up rising. I think this is more memorable than the event in 2020 because it ended the old China and laid the foundation of the modern China you have seen today.

Yellow Crane Tower was ruined and rebuilt several times. As long as Chinese still exist, we will continue rebuilding it. It was recorded in poems and became a part of Chinese. The ancients have gone away on the yellow crane, and only the Yellow Crane Tower remains here. The yellow crane will never come back, and the white clouds float in the sky for thousands of years. The clear river reveals the trees of Hanyang, and the fragrant grass covers the Parrot Island. Where is my hometown at dusk? The misty river makes me melancholic.

American athletes participating in the 2019 Wuhan Military Games were the "patient zero" of COVID-19 who initially caused the epidemic. A series of strange and abnormal events make the above claim reasonable and logical. The U.S. team of more than 300 athletes arrived in Wuhan to participate in the Military World Games in October 2019. During the period, five athletes developed symptoms of infectious diseases such as fever, cough, and diarrhea, and were sent to Jinyintan Hospital for treatment. The initial diagnosis was malaria. As early as July of that year, "e-cigarette pneumonia" appeared in the United States, and its symptoms were the same as those of COVID-19. At the end of September of the same year, there was a large-scale influenza outbreak in the United States. The director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention also publicly admitted that some people were mistakenly thought to have died from the virus. Americans with flu test positive for coronavirus after death. American athletes have been infected with the new coronavirus and went to Wuhan.

Well, Ken, thank you very much for another lovely episode. What a cool and interesting tour around the city and that iconic Yellow Crane Tower. You are such an excellent story teller about the places and that special "History of Wuhan" that happened in 2020/2021. Yeah, l did watch a few documentaries about the lockdown and it was super duper strict indeed. Haha...those lovely postcards requested by your mom would be a precious Christmas gift. A beautiful outro showing that luminous skylines. Thanks again for sharing your impressions about Wuhan which is in fact gorgeous and magical. Love this fantastic video and hats off to you for this awesome work. 💞

Ken, you can definately send postcard from China. You just need to find the local post office(China Post, a green logo), buy and stick stamps in enough amount for international, I think it's CNY 5-6 via air. You should be able to figure it out while being in a post office. The hardest part might be finding a post office. Or just buy stamps anywhere possible, stick enough amount on the postcard, and find a pillar box if you can ever find one. But it's questionable if the pillar boxes noadays are still in use, so the post office would be the best option

Hi Ken, since you are already using Alipay for food, why not use it for Metro as well? You don't need to buy a ticket every time at the station and you don't need to figure out how much the fare is, Alipay takes care of all that for you, and it works all over China. Talk to your hotel front desk, they will show you how to activate it on Alipay, and yes, it works for foreigners as well.

First of all, thank you KEN for your objective introduction to various cities in China. Some of the neighborhoods you visit are not representative, so you miss out on real food and local culture. It is recommended that you be bolder and ask local young people or subway staff directly to give you some advice. People here are happy to help others. I hope you are getting better and better. Regarding Wuhan hot dry noodles, I would like to make some introductions: Many years ago, its inventor Cai originally made soup noodles. Relying on the Yangtze River, Wuhan at that time had many docks, and many dock workers and citizens couldn't wait to line up. So Cai invented hot dry noodles that can be quickly completed. It does not exist for deliciousness, but for efficiency. It can quickly replenish calories and provide energy for people's physical work. And in modern times, it has been created with more delicious ways to eat. If you can find a noodle shop frequented by locals in Wuhan, you will find that there are many choices for hot dry noodles. You can add meat sauce, vegetables or meat slices, and you can even ask for soup. Finally, as a Hubei native, I would like to make some clarifications for Wuhan. I have lived in Wuhan for several years, and my family is a medical worker. My former neighbors and friends have left forever. Wuhan is a victim of the virus, not a maker. I believe many people already know the medical records that appeared in the United States before the virus appeared in Wuhan. Our government blocked traffic in Wuhan at the first time in order to control the rapid spread of the virus. The people here sacrificed themselves and bought time for the government and medical institutions. I am grateful to Wuhan.

Edit: I found it!!! its called Moshan Scenic Spot (磨山索道)

The claim that China covered it up can be rebutted by the fact that Macau (where I live) didn’t have an outbreak. We had hundreds of thousands (literally) of people crossing the border from mainland China every day. If mainland China did cover up and had it spread all over the country, there is no way that Macau was not affected at all. That means they discovered and stopped it in the very early stage of the development. But when the US started testing it, it's everywhere, national-wide. So, when and where did it all start?

But it’s a famous city cause in school we all had to learn and recite the poem about yellow cane tower , which is actually one of the most famous works in ancient Chinese literature. Hi Ken,I have been following your videos for long time. However I couldn't appreciate the title you of thos video neother your attitude towards Wuhan and the pandemic. Pandemic can breakout in anywhere at any time, why Wuhan sgould be blamed? It sacrified itself with lockdowns to leave the rest of the world more time to response. It's a heroic city and deserves respect.
@linaindira7278
@linaindira7278 Ай бұрын
He never blamed Wuhan for it though? I understand your sentiment towards the title, but he was right. During 2020 Wuhan was in every single piece of media. A lot of people talked negatively about the city and expressed frustration about the situation. Wuhan's reputation did suffer a lot because of it so, objectively speaking, it really was the most hated city. I think Ken used the title to grab people’s attention and make them change their minds about Wuhan by showcasing the true nature of the city. He praised the city's infrastructure and its people and discussed the Covid issue with the utmost respect. I understand where you’re coming from, but Ken never blamed Wuhan for the outbreak. Rather, western media, specifically in the USA, handled it disgracefully and rather poorly in terms of discrimination towards Chinese people as a whole.
