Sheep are by far the best option for rotational grass grazing. We're looking into getting a very small sheep flock for grazing in our area.

@bentonhomestead the ultimate would be sheep, goats, and chickens!
@bentonhomestead

@@MatsukawaZaraki Sure! I just meant for un-manned rotational grazing, sheep are the easiest to move around with little teeny temporary fences. They're so docile compared to ornery goats and chickens.

@cocolenchojapan and @matsukawazaraki which prefectures are you in? I've lived in Japan a couple times and looking to move back with my family. My wife is from Tokyo and my daughter was born in Kyoto, but we're open to other areas. Great video by the way!

@cocolenchojapan my wife has some relatives in Yamaguchi that we usually visit, but I haven't made it to Iwakuni. I imagine you might not have too difficult a time finding people to move there due to former military folks being familiar with the area. Some prefectures are probably a much harder sell just due to people's unfamiliarity.

We have to move to a more main city because of my youngest’s health issues, but this was my dream before we had her. How will the visa process be for people that want to come move out to the country towns? The biggest issue right now for most I think is the visa, unless you’re more trying to get people who already have them to move out of the cities into the countryside? Would love to come visit someday though! I think it’s the best type of area for kids especially.

We would love to get more nationals, and foreigners who can get visas first, but we can also help with anyone who is TRULY serious. First though, we'd like to meet and evaluate the people to see if they are a good fit, and most countries have free 90 day visas, so we can start there for an evaluation period and if everything works out, we can work on a more permanent visa situation. We don't want "just anyone" we want good people, and unfortunately, when a cheap or free option is laid out, many opportunistic people will try to take advantage for their own personal gain, but we're looking for people who care about the community, not just themselves, so it will take a bit of searching to find good fits.

@MatsukawaZaraki
@MatsukawaZaraki Ай бұрын
@thursday315 that's true, but also, it would increase the strain on the system as many people would buy a cheap house and then come looking for handouts or nit want to contribute and that's part of what makes it so difficult. They want people who will be productive, not just "anyone", which is a big reason America is so messed up right now 😞
