Great track. Hozier sounded great. I’ve seen the name but this is my first listen. Came for Mavis. I’m an old white guy who lived through the times of the greats named in this song and always preferred soul over rock. Love Mavis and all the others named here.

Hozier is an amazing artist and this is a great track. If you like his sound, he just dropped a new album about a month or 2 ago. Too Sweet from his new LP and Nobody's Soldier are both great tracks. Thanks for the reaction. The people he named in the song, other than Mavis, had passed. Hence, no AF

I'm not getting these notifications!!!!!!!!!!!! I love ya and am missing some of the magic you explore!!❤❤❤❤❤ I saw Hozzier at Bethel Park. (Woodstock site) a month ago for 15,000 fans. You should check out "Jackie and Wilson" for one of Tuesday's selection for blues and soul. He brought Joan Baez with Mavis up on stage at the Newport Folk Festival to sing "The Weight." He had Ed Sheeran up to sing "Work Song." He is a retro soul from Dublin and could have been alive during the 60's. I have to check why I haven't gotten your notifications. I love Mavis Staples. She is still singing at 85. She was 79 on this performance. A great video is the song The weight done by The Band and The Staple Singers from the concert film The last waltz. It features Mavis in her prime. Also there is a new Larkin Poe album called Bloom coming in January. You reacted to the first single, Bluephoria. The second single, If god is a woman just came out. It's also worth checking out.
