Wow! You give the best tips! I don't think that anyone offers the same 411 on Rome. And the very best graphics. 😊 We're still considering Frascati for the peace and quiet. We have some catching up to do on your channel!
@RozierRoma Жыл бұрын
Some of my earlier videos are not the best. I am still learning but they are getting better. I am very familiar with Frascati. I had an apartment there for a cope of months earlier this year. The train runs every hour into Rome costs about 2 euros and takes about 30 minutes. It is a fun place to base from if you have a car as you can explore they all the towns around there but parking is a major pain and driving is a bit stressful. If you do not have a car give Trastevere a try. The early mornings before 10am and the evenings in Rome are not too crowded and awesome even in peak season. If you are in Frascati you will miss those. If you are there during off peak season the city is much more manageable. If in Rome for multiple days, escape a day trip to Frascati or Spoleto. Just my thoughts. I hope you have.a great trip.

@RozierRoma Жыл бұрын
Italians have gelato down, and Romans are no exception. These days it is so hard to taste the difference between one gelato and the next. Now it’s become more about the presentation and experience that differentiates one Gelateria from the next. I did not mention any Gialateria specifically in Trastevere but there are plenty. My wife has her favorite too called Giolitti located a little north of the pantheon. sometimes when we’re in the area we have to walk over there just to get her favorite gelato but I personally don’t see a big difference.

I'm told by different sources that Testaccio is where many of the very best restaurants are located, where the locals like to frequent. Trestevere is more tourist oriented. I spent my final day of my first trip to Rome exploring that neighborhood and was somewhat underwhelmed. Too many fellow Americans and it was graffitiland! Wish I had picked Monti instead.
@RozierRoma Жыл бұрын
Lots of graffiti for sure. I spent the past 2 months in Trastevere {November and December} At that time of year not too many tourists but the restaurants are filled with Romans. Trastevere is much more walker friendly streets than Testacio. Both have great food options, For me I prefer Trastevere. It is better connected to other areas as well.

While there are bikes and scooters in Rome there are not really that many. Maybe because the roads cobblestone and bumpy. I mentioned cars because many Italians drive very aggressively. Cars, scooter and bikes seem to have the right-away.

The best advise is to travel to Italy in the low season when hotels are over hael off and if you are traveling in high season book very early for best deals. One option is to base your trip from Tivoli just outside of Rome. Hotels and Airbnb from 70 euros plus a great city and you can take the train into Rome when you want.
