Hey bud, I want to buy a camera for live streaming and vlogging and something that's really good all around. I was first thinking if I should get a camcorder or if I should get a mirrorless camera. I want the video to be really good quality and I also wanted to take very good pictures and just be something ultimately the best bang for the buck. I looked at your Panasonic g100 videos but then also looked at some other videos and got a lot of negative news regarding it and saw a lot of people saying the g85 or g95 is a better option and that the g100 doesn't have ibis. I personally don't like the Sony Zv1 because it's just not wide enough in terms of the lens and the lenses are not interchangeable and it's not a mirrorless camera. So I was wondering what your input would be since your experienced in this field. Thanks!

Hi, I can understand your feelings. As a hobbyist photographer for 10 years now, I also reach that point of... asking myself questions about photography and gears acquirements. I think my real pleasure I genuinly have is when people are amazed by the pictures i take without knowing whom the photographer is. You are one of my preferred photographer and youtuber. Not only because of your art, but because you have a big heart. 👍

I wanted to thank you. At the start of Covid19 this was the only channel which did proper reviews of camcorders. Our school needed to start streaming 8 hours a day on a budget. I ended up with a 1080p Panasonic closely followed by the 4k version of these consumer level cameras. My lights were workshop lights but you know what. We got online and still are! Quite independently I had bought myself a Leica Dlux7 which is a Lumix Lx100II with Leica fairy dust sprinkled on it. Nice to see it is MarkusPix approved. Thanks again!

Hi Markus. I know that I am diginn out some old video but I want to thank you for this content. You know... I always want to take some "good shoot" but after some time I ask myself "what the hell is good picture" and I done this thank to You. I have old Canon 500D - sometime it was expensive (to me) camera and some JVC consumer camcorder and was never happy with quality. Thanks to you I changed my thinking of quality. I do not think anymore in category of resolution, lighting, bokeh or other technical stuff. Now the quality for me is a what the materials (and I shot for myslef only) is showing, what memories it keeps for me. And this makes me very happy.

Good morning! Your videos showing the smaller, simpler ways of doing things are partly what put me back to a smaller camera, and back to Olympus where I first picked up the hobby. I used to chase after the bigger, better, full-frames, but once I really took a look at where that would blow my frugal nature out the window, I slowed right down. I can now carry everything I might need in a smaller bag that fits in the console of my truck. Keep up showing us the realities we should all be thankful for.

Love how the light hits your hair at 6:54. I just bought a RX100 Mark I for 40€ and after fixing it I love it. I also bought a NX Mini after watching some of your videos in the past. Gotta love a small, sharp and discrete camera. I was tired of carrying my Canon DSLR around, and with this small form factor I'm able to just throw it in my chest bag and carry it around everywhere. I wish more manufacturers would start doing these types of cameras with APS-C sensors on them, but for now, the 1 inch sensor ones are good enough for me! Great video as always Markus, keep it up!

I am a Photo addict (was a Pro for many years).... I watch a lot of YT photo videos.... But Yours is one of the "BEST" because You Really take photos (and Many are Great)!!!!!! As I get older I want and have smaller cameras for the same reasons You do... But I like to print a minimum of 20"x30" (bigger is better when it comes to photos) So even though I own smaller great cameras They get left at home when I travel or do a serious Photo shoot Full Frame camera give the best results for printing big (im sure a medium format would be even better (but im on a budget)) I am more of a Nikon person so I am waiting for them to catch up with the Sony AF capabilities,,, Have fun with the new Sony 7C.... You go thru a lot of work to make all of Your wonderful videos THANKS to YOU and CARA !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I remember the days when most people had a 35mm compact camera. They were used to quickly capture precious memories. no one cared about megapixels, dynamic range or professional this or professional that. It's great to see someone on KZbin praising and using these little masterpieces of tech. About time people remembered that it is the content of the photo that is important not what it was taken with. I found myself in a situation where I had as many cameras and lenses that I had always wanted, but I felt a vacuum in my photography. In my early days I would go out with a Pentax Spotmatic camera with a couple of lenses and produced a wealth of photos, it was fun. As I moved into becoming a professional photographer I began to acquire more and more gear, a lot of it I never used. Two years ago I was taken to hospital suffering with severe pneumonia, I didn’t think I would last the year out. Since coming out of hospital I rethought about what I wanted to do and how I could simplify life. I decided to go back to basics and shoot with one camera and one lens (50mm). My passion for photography has returned, I only shoot what I like and have given up professional assignments. Restricting myself to one camera, one lens has made me think more about the picture than working out which gear I should take out. Enjoying your videos a lot Markus, you are hitting the right mark with your commentary. Keep up the good work. Regards Vincent from London, England

So refreshing to hear some sense being sprinkled into the camera community. It's all about practicality and it's completely unfeasible to shell out big $$$, as well as carry every new piece of tech around. The hype machine just rolls around and promotes the latest piece of gear, noone wants to hear about it 6 months later. I bought a Canon7D and 10 years later a Fuji XT3. I could have used 1000 cameras in between but I doubt my images would have been much different. It's not even about spending money buying/selling (or in Markus' case "acquiring" lol). It's just the headache of chasing something that doesn't exist. Everyone is much better off getting some capable setup and crafting their photography & post processing skills, that's literally 95% of it. The top end gear is the last 5% of the equation. Stay safe Markus, hope you doing well out there :)

Very heartfelt video with good advice about being happy and doing the best with what one has. Money does not equate to happiness. Yes, it can get one stuff, and stuff can create the temporary illusion of happiness, but true happiness comes from the things one does that brings them joy. In this case it sound like the thing that brings you joy is taking good pictures with out all the bells and whistles others claim are needed, and to some degree also sharing that experience with the world to help others obtain a similar experience.

Like you said was the best camera is the one you have with you. I shoot with my Canon 70D. Sure it’s old and outdated however, it does a great job taking pictures. It does a good job with video at 1080p as well. You seldom really need 4K or above. That is just a selling tool to get you to buy the latest and greatest. Marcus, put on some hiking boots, long blue jeans, and drive up the hump going to Pahrump. There is a small parking area that is on the right side of the road. Stop there and follow the trail. You will be amazed at how many different types of cactus, lizards, spiders, and the occasional snake are about. It is a wildlife photographers dream to shoot what’s right down at kneecap level. The colors will amaze you. Spend half a day up there and have a great time. It’s invigorating and exciting to dig for that one shot that becomes inspirational. And, that is everywhere you look up there.

People get bored of things, they need something new. You possibly already had that (most likely), so now you need something new, which translates into collecting things, keep you busy, motivated, brings a bit of spark to life, in your case, cameras. You achieved a lot in your life, which is amazing. I agree, one doesn't need the latest and greatest, me personally, of the same opinion (a Fujifilm mirrorless camera like x-s10 with a decent lens will do the trick for all types of photography). I love it!…Great you are at the point where you can follow your heart and pursue what truly makes you happy! Everyone can’t/won’t/aren’t in position to do this. I really love the 4K from the zs100. I just bought it (yesterday), and think it is spectacular especially in the small form factor…I’m also no professional but a hobbyist who likes to take photos and capture perspectives of life. I’m looking into the LX10 for the 1 in sensor and the f1.4-2.8 aperture, thinking it’ll return really good photos in indoor low lighting conditions. Are the indoor low light photos the LX10 produces better than what the zs100 offers?

This is great. You are right, you are going the opposite way of many. I appreciate your enthusiasm for these powerful but simple cameras. I love the idea of the outside buttons for most adjustments. I might pick this Panasonic up now.

What a touchy video! I'm a new subscriber from abroad, but I do like the way you explain about your stuffs. I have no expensive cameras, as I've been using my Nikon D5100, and I really love it!

Every time I'm watching you I have a feeling that the ''concent'' your making is 100% real and not fake, the natural flow is better to watch than fancy stuff by others. I maybe naive but still enjoying your work. Keep going with that work!
