Mines done 95k now and tbh I haven't seen alot about chains! I think a good service schedule helps alot!

Great vid mate. Got one of these and love it but getting a "Drivetrain" error popup when either going up steep hills or giving it some speed. Know what you mean on power but definitely quick enough on GB roads. I think the start/stop might be more about emissions rather than fuel saving... not sure it's using much when ticking over.

In my country everyone is avoiding the 30D because of the issues with the engine, used 30D engine costs so much money, that already tells about its reliability, same with N55 from the *35i version, if you are thinking to buy the 30D anyway just look for low mileage and do the cooling system clean up every second oil change

Ahh the 3.0d normally a pretty reliable engine here tbf! But always good to know what to look out for etc

I reckon a stage 1 remap would give it the extra kick it needs when taking off, it will add the extra torque and give it that pull.

Yeah I agree I mean it’s not slow, but could do with a bit more, I’ve looked into it a remap would take it from 187bhp to around 240bhp and a decent torque increase! I think I need to book it in

@@freightlanetv Bro such remaps are the worst you can do… especailly for this money. A good one costs around 1300 dollars. And then you still have like 220hp… 240 is not possible with this engine.

My mate got the 240 remap. It flies. Brings 60 down to around 6. Similar to my previous 328i f30. And his economy is superb

Eyup mate just come across your video. I'm looking at 520d f11 62 plate with 111,500. Just wondering how yours is getting on? I've heard a lot of horror stories about chains and air suspension.

I’ve sold mine now mate but mine was on similar milleage I had no problems with chains or anything like that, I had standard springs on mine mate

looking to get an F11 as a long term replacement for my leased Octavia VRS 242bhp. In two minds over the 530d vs 520d. I'm looking at vehicles in excess of 125k miles and likely drive to 200k - is one engine likely to be more reliable at these sorts of mileage?

My 520d engine is good tbf never had problems with it, but I think the 530d is the more reliable and stronger.

hi mate i have one and was thinking of fitting a front splitter like the one on yours did you fit it if so was there any issues as threre are lots for sale like yours on ebay and how much was it thanks regards ste a follower of yours .

It came with the car, it did come Off at one point and it wasn’t that bad to do at all! Another pair of hands could be helpful! Plus the middle part where’s its bottles can be a bit fiddly! But other than that not bad!

Great review! I would like to know the performance of the automatic gearbox, is the gear change still very smooth and fast even after 100000 miles? Any problem with the gearbox?

Thank you! Well mines just done 105k now and the gearbox is still really good still changes really well no juddering or anything! No problems with the gearbox 8 speed auto is really good and very good for fuel economy will be in 8th at like 40mph lol

Nope never changed the oil pretty sure there the life of the vehicle!

Yeah mines been brilliant engine wise, with like anything aslong as serviced regularly and looked after they’ll go Forever! I had to put a diff in mine earlier this year as the flange bearing went but think that’s just bad luck! Otherwise brilliant car!

@@freightlanetv Just a word of advice... I drive the same car and my mech tells me its fine to re-map but stick to the max the factory specced for the engine. 211bhp is where you should stop on the 2.0
